Project Summary

EUGLOH, the European University Alliance for Global Health, consists of 5 research universities —Lund University (Sweden), Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (Germany), Universidade do Porto (Portugal), University of Szeged (Hungary) and Université Paris-Saclay (France) — committed to train new generations of European leaders, innovators, experts and practitioners, who will serve all sectors of society. They will acquire cross-disciplinary knowledge and skills in a variety of areas ranging from digital health, public health, and welfare, to environmental protection and food security. By embracing the European values at the core of EUGLOH such as solidarity, equality of opportunities, inclusiveness, respect for human rights and access to welfare, they will be ready to tackle major challenges of tomorrow’s society. The location of the partners at the heart of major economic hubs, together with the presence of world-class large-scale research facilities, hospitals and bioclusters, are distinctive features of EUGLOH. Benefitting from this exceptional ecosystem, the Alliance offers unique joint European programmes and curricula strongly linked to excellent research and innovation. These opportunities are proposed to all students, including disadvantaged students, and professionals. Emphasis is put on learner-centered orientation and self-design of curricula. To this end, a large panel of short and long-term study programmes, internships, online trainings, all taught in English or other languages, are available. Innovative methods adapted to diversity of learning abilities and special tools are provided. By 2025 EUGLOH will be a world-class higher education and research alliance focused on global health and well-being that will strongly connect theoretical knowledge with professional competencies, thus contributing to a common European health area. This trans-national and multicultural campus will thereby consolidate the European model of higher education.
