Project Summary

According to the European Digital Agenda, ICT skills are essential for improving social inclusion, giving adults the opportunity to integrate into the labor market and facilitating their education. The DESI 2018 INDEX shows that in the near future about 90% of all jobs will require digital competences but also more complex ICT skills. Because there is a critical need to train library staff in ICT use, innovation management & networking, entrepreneurship & leadership, and attracting adults to libraries through new activities, partners (ANBPR,GLBF and Future Library) propose an adult education intervention to improve and expand the offer of high quality learning opportunities on innovative educational themes with potential for economic growth, the acquisition and recognition of new skills, attitudes, in accordance with labor market requirements by low-skilled adults so that they respond better to the demands of the current working environment, governed by technology, interdisciplinarity and transnational cooperation. The partners face the lack of modern ICT skills among adults, lack of innovation and entrepreneurship, which is contrary to the intentions of technological advancement and the development of modern organizations’ services.

The specific objectives aim at creating a transnational and multisectoral network through which 10 facilitators from Romania, Bulgaria and Greece, IT multipliers (according to the ICDL standard), Management of Innovation & Networking and Entrepreneurship & Leadership will transfer know-how to heterogeneous adult learners communities from the three countries but also from the region, so that innovative learning experiences can generate favorable changes in the level of integration of the three themes into education, with beneficial effects on adult and professional development of adults; (3D modeling and printing, image editing, digital marketing, on-line collaboration tools), Management of Innovation & Collaboartion within a network and Entrepreneurship & Leadership among 210 adults in Romania, Bulgaria and Greece (70 per country), library users and librarians, trained with the involvement of experienced facilitators, as well as the transfer of good practices among 90 adults (30 from each country Romania, Bulgaria and Greece) within 3 mentoring camps, each country in one of the three thematic areas (IT, Management of Innovation, Entrepreneurship), consisting of creativity, innovation and entrepreneurial sessions development and organized in each partner country according to the proven expertise, by establishing connections with key experts and leaders in the project’s reference areas in 3 countries, as well as representatives and decision-makers from the authorities, business environment, NGOs and representative education units in each country. In total, 6 mobilities, 3 dedicated to training multipliers and 3 for adults.

Within the project, 6 innovative products will be developed (the Innovative methodology for training the trainers in ICT for adults, the Management of Innovation & Collaboration within a network Curriculum in adult teaching, the Entrepreneurship & Leadership Curriculum in adult teaching, the Trainer Manual for the mentoring camps, the e-Innovator Guide, the e-Entrepreneur Guide) and three dissemination events will be organized, one in each partner country. There will be 3 transnational management meetings that will focus on communication, methodological transfer and mid-term evaluation of project implementation results.

Beneficiaries: 210 low-skilled adults, 10 partners / experts from libraries from 3 countries (direct), of which at least 15% are disadvantaged and 5000 librarians, 10,000 adults, 2 authorities, 5 businesses, 5 NGOs, 3 universities from the three countries and from the rest of Europe (indirect).

The project will generate a positive change for both partner organizations and beneficiaries, consisting in: strengthening the organizational capacity of partners, improving the modern skills of trainers and adults trained in the project; increasing the chances of professional advancement; diversifying the offer of modern and quality public library services; strengthening the role of the library both as an interface to information access and as a test and learning environment for technology, innovation and entrepreneurship development; increasing the relevance of Erasmus+ programs for adults in the three countries and increasing the chances of integrating vulnerable groups.
