Project Summary

The aim of the project is to develop international professional and social competences among school students in Poland, Germany and Italy, in particular vocational schools, through the development of a textbook with materials for use in formal and non-formal education. The goal of the project will translate into a long-term goal – equipping industry students with professional skills allowing them to move freely on the culturally diverse labor market and education, both in their country and outside. The result of the project will be a handbook in 4 languages (English German, Italian, Polish) for teaching international professional competences with 36 educational modules supplementing curricula with desirable competences on the market, which will bring education closer to the conditions of the international economy. Inadequate adjustment of the qualifications of school graduates to the needs of employers is a serious labor market problem, which intensifies the globalization process, requiring workers mobility and skills in working in multicultural teams. The curricula in the professions are monocultural, which distinguishes them from the actual market conditions and challenges faced by employees. Knowledge of a foreign language is not enough, for which international aspects of teaching are often imported.
It is necessary to understand other cultures and the ability to face them. Pupils from peripheral areas affected by unemployment do not have the opportunity to acquire qualifications abroad. European projects and cross-sectoral cooperation are a chance here. In the project, joint educational modules will be developed by three partners from three countries, which will complement their curricula. They will be a universal tool, prepared for implementation during formal education, to increase the universality of application and give the opportunity of the largest possible group of young people to acquire international professional competences.
The increase in the importance of international aspects of the profession should be expected in the context of the globalization of the economy, but also increased labor migration between countries and the high rate of youth unemployment in EU countries. The project assumed the use of the German experience of the MILENA project. The participation of 3 countries will allow for greater versatility and versatility of the product. In order to develop modules that best suit the needs of the economy, they will be included in the school project, employers and educational authorities that will contribute to the implementation of the product. As a result, cross-sectoral cooperation networks will be created that will support the implementation of the project’s objectives and ensure its durability. Thanks to the international exchange of experiences, we will develop innovative solutions using European tools and increase the potential of VET institutions.
