Project Summary

Gender equality and fight against discrimination are basic values on which EU is founded upon. However, much remains to be done in EU and in the world to create common ground of equal society. This project is socio-educational, focused on increasing the capacities of organizations working in the area of gender equality and awareness of gender equality. Its main objectives are the capacity building of NGOs in area of usage of social media and open educational resources. The causes for a need of strengthening capacities of our partner organization, is women discrimination causing their death worldwide, according to the World Health Organization offered by the Development Fund UN Women; Human Rights Committee (HRC); Gender gap is present on different levels depending on the country. In Dominican Republic, domestic violence is a problem that affects women, families and communities, and it increases rapidly. The majority of women victims belong to disadvantaged social classes, with lower standard of education and come from rural areas. However, domestic violence is not confined to these social groups but regards the whole society regardless of the level of education or economic status. Capo de Verde is considered the most democratic national in Africa but again the numbers are very high when it comes to violence against women and limited access to education, employment, decision-making positions and access to healthcare. Situation in Indonesia is very similar. Indonesia from the report from Multi-Country Study on Women’s Health and Domestic Violence Against Women, it is noted that 41% of women in Indonesia suffered physical or sexual violence at some point in their lives, mostly from their husbands. In Thailand faces socio-economic inequalities, widening income gaps, uneven development between urban and rural areas, and unequal access to resources and social services. For our project, the main idea of creation of open educational resources is even more valuable as we consider that very important part is the Team gathering from South America, Africa, Asia and Europe. An experience team of organizations working for long time in this area. This means that the team will be able to share experience, learn and develop, network and exchange good practices. Possibility of expositor of results – world level. Networking opportunities Webinar, Videos and podcast on training materials that are free for use and easy accessible Social Media’s usage and follow up activitiesDissemination of results after the end of the projectThe activities planned are planned to include non-formal leading methodology, learning by doing, job shadowing’s, creation of workshop, training of trainers, study visit and coordination meeting. The project will build strong relationship between organizations in Europe, South America, Africa and Asia and its having potential to become worldwide viral due to the developed free educational resources.
