Project Summary

Childbirth is an event of nature and is an important indicator of health. It can be seen that data such as maternal and infant health, cesarean section rates, midwives’ education, medical personnel per capita, place of birth are different between countries. A project has been implemented in order to make an assessment of midwifery competencies and to examine the differences affecting the way women are born. With the project, it was to bring together maternity teams from 3 countries showing different data on maternal and infant health. Our project continued for 36 months. It is planned to prepare 1 opening meeting, 6 transnational meetings, 1 project closing and dissemination symposium program, 3 transnational workshops, 6 articles and 1 birth preparation training module program. The opening meeting, 3 transnational meetings and 2 workshop program mobility meetings were held face-to-face. However, as of March 2020, due to the cancellation of international flights due to the increasing Covid-19, 6 transnational meetings could not be held, 1 workshop program was held online, and the closing meeting was organized online.

In the medium and long term is expected to be the team, which increase the number of birth; providing active training on the care of healthy mothers and babies before, during and after childbirth, who plays a more effective role in the field of preparation for childbirth with current and modern educational methods, developing a perspective on the psychological effects of childbirth, who acquires profession-specific, up-to-date accurate and new information, giving birth preparation training designed with a holistic point of view and respecting women’s rights at birth.
