Project Summary
Our project is aimed to full fill the need of the better and fuller social and cultural inclusion of the disabled pupils from 6 European countries within the time of 24 month via 6 mobility and the actions all-year long to meet the objectives of the project: to enhance the knowledge of the 70 pupils aged 12-18 and their families and the teachers about the social and cultural inclusion of the disabled pupils while carrying out the project to see how it is provided in different European countries.
The project directly involved more than 150 students, teachers, parents. Among them, there are many students with special needs, as well as individual detainees from ethnic minorities, migrants and from disadvantaged social groups.
Horizontal priority is SOCIAL INCLUSION.
Additional priorities are:
1. Supporting schools to tackle early school leaving (ESL) and disadvantage;
2. Promoting the acquisition of skills and competences.
Poland is the project coordinator, and the partners are: Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, Spain and the United Kingdom. We planned to involve in the project local culture institutions and local bodies responsible for the inclusion of the disabled students in the society.
There will be six short-term exchanges of groups of pupils in the project (Poland – Oct 2018, Romania – Mar 2019, Bulgaria – May 2019, Spain – Oct 2019, Turkey – Apr 2020, United Kingdom – Jun 2020).
The mobility will help us create products that we will be able to share with other schools in our regions, countries and to wider number of the teachers of the e-Twinning platform and Erasmus + platform.
During the project, all possible channels will be used to transmit information on the outcomes of its activities, which will expand the impact beyond the narrow target groups.
Methodology includes:
discussions, conferences, communication between partners, acquiring new knowledge and skills, planning, mode of selection of the participants, evaluation.
Events:
group work, role-games, team-buildings, ppt-presentations, urban tourist activity, observing the lessons at the host school, acquiring the motivation for active European citizenship of the pupils involved in the project – inclusion of the disabled in the society, evaluation of the mobility.
Expected results:
– foreign language use competence increase
– cultural awareness of the European cultural heritage increase
– future civic activity stimulation
– new skills and competences – their practical usage
– increase of the knowledge of the disabled people in the society and their importance in social and cultural life
– learning new skills for successfull groupwork and teamwork
– new technology design skills while
– enhancing the knowledge of european cities/regions and the countries
– aquainting the knowlege of the european educational system – teaching the disabled pupils
– aquaiting the knowledge of the cultural institutions’ offer for the disabled people
– sense of common European citizenship increase
– self-confidence esteem increase
– enhancing the capacity of participating schools to work in network with other international partners

Impact: Students will find together a variety of successful ways of social inclusion of children with special needs, ethnic minorities, migrants or disadvantaged social backgrounds in the school environment, but also in society as a whole. This will enable them to acquire but also practically use a large number of new knowledge and skills. By introducing new cultural, social and educational models from other European countries, the feeling of common European citizenship and future social activity among the participants in the project will increase.
The potential long-term benefits:
– developing new successful models for social inclusion of pupils with special needs;
– developing the knowledge and skills of students with special needs and increasing their self-esteem;
– the establishment of a network of partner European schools, which can continue its general activities after the completion of this project;
– enhancing the capacity of participating schools to work on international projects;
– To disseminate to other students the feeling of common European citizenship that will develop students who are directly involved in the project;
– develop interest in other social, cultural and national models that project participants will get acquainted with during mobility;
– prepare future tolerant but active European citizens;
– creating new friendships between pupils participating in mobility in foreign countries and the families in whose homes children will live during that time;
