Project Summary

Internet usage and developing ICT are inevitable parts of our lives. However, the social interaction area and its borders provided by internet are in a vast area which cannot be fully controlled. And also it brings some inappropriate behaviours with it. Cyberbullying is among these types of behaviours. Cyberbullying refers to unpleasant acts such as humiliation, slander, gossip, harassment, threat, embarrassment and exclusion, which an individual or group deliberately carries out on others in an electronic environment.
The main objectives of the project are to make all parts:;
-raise awareness about cyberbullying in our school
-create a school climate where students can feel safe
-enable students to have healthy social skills to in order to prevent inclination to cyberbullying
-improve the empathy feelings of our students
– create a digital citizen concept
-provide necessary psychological support to our students who have been victims of cyberbullying
-meet and learn about new cultures;
-take responsibility and gain self confidence;
-understand the EU policies, priorities and EU bodies;
-spreading the physical Cultural Heritage of Europe
The Project Participants;
There will be a total of 6 participant countries in the project. The participants will be selected among the staff who are willing to actively take part in project activities according to the objective criteria we have determined. During 24 months,the participants will receive digital awereness and safe internet usage to prevent cyberbullying.In a world where teenagers are bound with technology, of course, improving their ICT skills is another key objective of this Project. Recording and creating videos, preparing presentations, digital calendars will help them to learn how to use ICT in a safe way.The teachers and students will also meet new and popular teaching/learning methodologies in practice.Whereas they are improving their skills, they will also improve their personality and citizenship quality, evaluate current applications and be more motivated to search, try and perform new ones. Dissemination and sustainability acts, of course, have great importance to achieve the expected benefits in a long term.Therefore, “THINK TWICE WHEN YOU TYPE” will try to reach as many people as possible.Cooperating and integrating with stakeholders such as nearby schools, local authorities, media, energy and environment companies, NGOs and parents will be achieved by different activities like having regular meetings, visits, interviews, applying questionnaires and inviting/involving them to the acts in schools.To make the outcomes reach more people, virtual platforms will be used effectively and all kind of documents will be easily reachable and downloadable for third parties.To sum up, TTWYT is a project covering lots of social, educational and environmental matters to study on with the aim of:
*developing social relationships with their peers without bullying both on the internet and in the school environment
*no declining in academic success due to cyberbullying
*raising an awareness of signs showing that their children are affected by cyberbullying for parents
*making people aware of virtual bullying and solution;
* encourage people and make them capable to take action as a truly social and responsible persons on social matters;
*integrating social and real matters to school curriculum by applying new methodologies.
