Project Summary

The key action 2 of the Erasmus + program has set itself the objective of contributing to the exchange of experience in VET in transnational strategic partnerships for the development of initiatives. For the 2016-2020 period under the new ET 2010, new priorities have been set for European cooperation in education and training. These priorities for the period 2016-2020 include:
• relevant and high-quality skills and competencies for employability and well-being
• increased support for teachers
• sustainable investment in the performance and efficiency of education and training systems.

The project “Health is contagious” / “contagious health” thus takes practical and experience-based skills for teacher employability in order to secure or increase the performance and efficiency of vocational schools in the long term by means of suitable health-promoting measures on stress and thus to contribute to strengthening the profile of the teaching profession.

The research of the previous scientific work has shown that the topic of stress can be detected across schools as the main factor for the illness of teachers. Preventative access to the topic so far is often unsystematic and / or is confined either to providing relaxation courses or shifting the cause to private living conditions. In the project, the stressors based on the model of Hans Selye are differentiated into physical, physical, psychological and social stressors. The project is designed so that these stressor areas are taken up by the respective schools. The participating schools were selected with the SHE-Rapid-Test of the network “Schools for Health in Europe” and have a high competence and experience in the development of preventive measures. This structure into these four areas is also the basic structure of a best practice guideline.

The success of the project can be measured by the main objectives formulated in the application:
1. There is a “best practice guide to prevent teachers stress” after the project.
2. The 32-page guide will help other schools where it is available online in English, French, German, Polish and Italian as well as in a print version in English.
3. On the basis of the four participating schools, a European network Health Promoting Vocation Schools (HELP-VS) was founded in Bonn with the participation of the German Commission of the European Commission. In two years time, it will meet again to exchange information Has.
4. In the long term, the project schools will offer training on stress prevention at their network meetings on the basis of the project results.

The project started in 09/2017 and ended in 07/2019. The main cornerstones were the o.a. stressor-focused meetings M1-M4, where the schools presented their good-practive to their respective focus.
– C1 Full Staff Meeting project organization, responsible Berufskolleg Halle (Westf.), Germany, 11/2017
– M1GER Presenting good practice, “physical individual” stress prev., Responsible Berufskolleg Halle (Westf.), Germany, 11/2017
– M2 LUX Presenting good practice, “physical infrastructural” stress prev., Responsible Lycée du Nord, Luxembourg, 04/2018
– M3 PL Presenting good practice, “social” stress prev., Responsible ZSOiO “Ogrodnik” w Pruszczu Gdańskim, 06/2018
– M4 IT Presenting good practice, “psychic” stress prev., Responsible for the professional training of all persons in Legno Trento, Italy, 11/2018
– C2 Full Staff Meeting – compiling the contributions for the best practive guide, 03/2019
– C3 Full Staff Meeting – Network Foundation, Project Completion, Evaluation, 06/2019

The effects of the project in schools can be described as follows: The participants learned about various successful prevention measures on stress and can transfer them to their own school as a multiplier. The institutions have further developed their stress-prevention skills and are gaining experience from other schools. There are plenty of examples of this, including: described in the best practice guide but also in the protocol for the C3 meeting.

The dissemination of the project results took place on the websites of the participating schools, via a radio station in Luxembourg and in Germany in three different newspapers with a total circulation of 136,000 copies as well as over etwinning.

The project indirectly led to:
– Exchange of practicl trainees (GER-PL) 06/2019
– School trips with students between the participating schools (GER-PL) 06/2019
– Personal exchange between the wood section of the schools (LUX-IT) in planning
