Project Summary
The Project “Species Diversity of chosen territories in the Czech and Slovak Republic” should have introduced specific features and differencies of fauna and flora in the district of the Berounka river in Bohemia and Malá and Velká Fatra and High Tatras in Slovakia.
At the same time the students were informed about cultural and historical monuments. They obtained skills and competences to protect wildlife, to do some sport activities in nature (walking, canoeing) to create and strenghten social relations to other nations.
The project output brought new educational materials supporting new teaching programmes in cooperating schools. The material was shared by teachers in the Czech and Slovak Republics. In case of need they could be used at all similar types of schools.
The partner school are Gymnázium Chomutov (coordinator of the project) and Gymnázium Martin (the project partner). Thirty grammar school students at the age of 16-18 participated in this project.
Methology was based on exercises of individual students as well as small groups in nature, at excursions, lectures, debates and on creation and usage of teaching materials and presentations at partner schools.
Two short-term transfers of Czech and Slovak students and creation of teaching materials and presentations were supposed to be main activities.
The results of the project was presented at schools, in the press and on social medias (web, facebook etc.). The project had an impact not only on its participants, but also on teachers and students of similar type of schools.
