Project Summary
The aim of the project was to create an innovative educational environment for students and teachers by learning about and using Google Blogger, Arts and Culture, Classroom, Cardboard, Expeditions, Maps, Calendar, Forms, YouTube apps in school education. Approx. 450 students aged 15-20 and 110 teachers participated in the project. During the mobility, project participants were introduced to the following Google tools and learned how to:
– save and share materials using a Google drive,
– work on documents on Google drive at the same time,
– build websites using Google sites,
– develop surveys with Google Form,
– use Google Classroom,
– create blogs with Google Blogger,
– upload videos to YouTube,
– use Google Maps and Calendar,
– apply Google Arts and Culture, Expeditions, and Cardboard with VR.
When implementing the project, we used the following methods of work: lessons and trainings during mobilities, webinars between mobilities, surveys to measure the level of participants’ satisfaction and acquired knowledge, group work, discussions on blogs, in personal contacts, on Google Meet and Hangout.
Teachers developed innovative lesson plans based on which they conducted classes in an international environment. Students learned creative ways to work with Google applications and they developed blogs, videos from project activities. During webinars with the use of Google Hangouts, participants learned about a wide range of applications offered by Google and practiced building websites and using Google Calendar and Classroom. All of them gained new experience by participating in international lessons in partner schools and trips to workplaces using Google apps. As part of the project, the local community, authorities, cooperating schools and parents of students were involved.
Participation in the project made it possible to deepen the digital knowledge of the participants, equipped them with the competences and skills necessary to function in the information society, contributed to the enrichment of the resources with modern forms and methods of work and to raise the linguistic competences of the people involved in the project.
