Project Summary
Our transnational cooperation was originally initiated by representatives of the county Telemark (Norway), Lubelskie (Poland) and partners at Green Business Norway due to their already established cooperation agreement. Both partner schools “Porsgrunn Upper Secondary School” and “Vetter Economic School” took an active part in establishing a cooperation project with the title “Let’s Strengthen Bonds Through Entrepreneurship and Tourism” based on innovation, intercultural education, tourism, cross-cultural communication, the development of English skills, entrepreneurship and the development of digital skills. As far as the schools’ profiles is concerned, Porsgrunn Upper Secondary School is among the two biggest schools in the county Telemark offering many different education programs. The pupils recruited to this project attended the following education programs:
o International baccalaureate
o Specialization in General Studies
o Sports and Physical Education
o Art, Design and Architecture
Porsgrunn Upper Secondary School collaborates with schools in Poland, France, Island, China and USA, Sweden, which reflects our commitment to internationalisation. The profile of A&J Vetter Economic Schools of Lublin is as follows: They have two types of schools, namely the XVI Secondary School and the Technical Economic Secondary School, from which pupils were recruited to our cooperation project. Both partner schools came with different expertise that enabled an interlocking approach to this project, where Porsgrunn Upper Secondary School brought along experience within entrepreneurship and innovation, whereas Vetter School brought along experience within computer science, hotel industry and tourist industry. Through various activities, such as during different workshops carried out by both schools and most importantly by visiting each other’s regions and promoting the tourist destinations of both regions Telemark and Lubelskie, our pupils have not only gained skills in the above described objectives, but they have also developed their personalities with respect to open-mindedness, tolerance, friendship across borders, active participation and an awareness of a lifelong learning process, which we think will contribute to a successful work and academic career. Thanks to the electronic platform e-Twinning, we could upload many documents that certify the various results obtained by this cooperation work and we would like to encourage everyone to explore our project’s activities and outcomes. In addition, even though this project will be formally closed, it will live on in its foot prints, in other words, in the already established contacts between pupils, both schools and other organisations involved in this project, which again have created a good groundwork and will ease further collaboration between both schools in the future. We look back at two utmost interesting, inspiring and informative years of cooperation and are very grateful for having got the opportunity to carry out this project with such multiple results.
