Project Summary

Background:
Styria and a part of Slovenia were a common cultural area for over a millennium. For a century, the regions were separated. Now the both countries are members of the EU. Good neighborly contacts and knowledge about the own homeland are maintopics of the project.
Exchanges between the pupils of one elementary school in Graz (VS Schönau) and one elementary school in Marburg take place. The children report about their hometowns Graz and Marburg in the school year 2018/19 and about Styria in the school year 2019/20. The exchange takes place via eTwinning.
Numbers:
66 pupils and 4 teachers from Austria (8 children have special educational needs, 60 children speak another first language than German)
Description of activities:
Joint city tours in Graz and Marburg
Joint excursions in Styria
During the interim contact via eTwinning
Methodology:
Use of traditional teaching methods and digital media
Both teams of teachers should be more confident in the use of digital media and the use of eTwinning at the end of the project.
Prejudices should have been reduced and friendships developed.
