Project Summary

Our Project Aim:We wanted adult educators who provide education to improve their knowledge and skills of individuals with disabilities,to improve their quality and to learn innovative practices in education of disabled people.As a result of the education and rehabilitation of disabled individuals, we wanted to learn the profession and provide employment,to sustain their lives independently,to integrate with the society and to increase their quality of life.Therefore,new models and initiatives were needed in education of the disabled and these initiatives and models should also include breaking down the prejudices of the society towards disabled individuals and creating a society sensitive to the needs and expectations of individuals with disabilities.
To achieve our goal:
*Our educators have learned about the workshop systems for the education of the disabled and learned how they are prepared for life and how they are employed.Contribution of physical rehabilitation and vocational therapies to education for the disabled people,training activities for the disabled to sustain their daily lives,
 They received technical trainings that enable them to acquire professions,artistic activities that will enable them to integrate into society,and participated in workshops.
*Educators learned the role of art in gaining skills for adults with disabilities.We saw that disabled people who are directed to artistic activities adapt to society more quickly.We saw how and in what areas families with disabilities and volunteers participate in the education process for the disabled.We participated in training studies on what opportunities are provided to individuals with disabilities and how long they had gained social adaptation skills.We had gains regarding the daily life skills and employment of individuals with disabilities.
*We learned the difficulties in the education of refugee and immigrant disabled individuals.We participated in the studies for the solution of the problems of adaptation to the society in which they are located.We learned the marketing system of products produced by disabled people.We provided training on methods and techniques that can be applied in preparing individuals with disabilities for business life.
*We worked on how people with disabilities can be employed and what kind of courses can be opened in this field.During our project,we examined good examples in the employment of disabled people and learned the processes they had undergone.Characteristics of teachers providing education with disabilities, the role of institutions in employment, innovative approaches to education of disabled people were important for us.
 We received trainings on national and international legal rights of individuals with disabilities.
Project Meetings:
We held 3 national meetings during the project.The first project meeting was held in Turkey.The aims of the project,the duties of the countries and the budget of the project were explained.The second meeting was held in Italy in the middle of the project.General evaluation was made in this meeting.The third transnational meeting was held in Bosnia. Project studies were evaluated.The duties of countries for the our intellectual output had been announced.
Learning, Teaching and Training Activities:
LTT studies were carried out in 5 different countries.Our project participants became trainers and managers of adult centers with disabilities. Mobility subjects between these countries are as follows:
Poland:Studies on workshop systems
Italy:The impact of art on education for the disabled
Izmir-Turkey:The education of disabled migrants and refugees, and marketing of products produced by the disabled
Bosnia and Herzegovina:Training of teachers with disabilities education
Konya-Turkey:Evaluation of work for the project results and intellectual output.
Intellectual Output:
The our intellectual output of the project was made in CIHEM management in the languages ​​of the partners and in English.In our book,the methods and technics applied by our partners who provide training for the disabled were analyzed.
 As a result of the qualitative and quantitative studies we conducted in the countries of our partners who provide disabled education. In our book,we decided to develop the workshop system as an innovative, joint education model with our partners.We compared different cultures and approaches in education of the disabled.Our book became a product of our LTT studies.
Multiplier Events:
Countries participated in Multiplier Events.At least 56 people from each country participated in these events.At these meetings,the participants were introduced and distributed our intellectual output.We have explained at that events;The methods and technics applied in the EU countries that provided training to the participants and the disabled,the successful applications and methods of the countries in the education of the disabled,the legal rights of the disabled in the Europe.
