Project Summary
With the development of technology, the world is shrinking day by day. In the past, it used to take several days to travel, but now with the invention of aircrafts, it takes only hours. The continents get closer to each other with the development of aviation technology. Exploring comes from curiosity. Questioning begins in childhood and big dreams belong to children. Our project was prepeared to teach children following their dreams. In our project, students from different countries having problems in social and school life due to several reasons ( broken families, absenteeism, low academic success) will carry out the activities with their friends. They will gain self confidence in the group activities. They will have hobbies because this project will reveal their skills. They will have positive attitudes towards school. We will teach them the history of aviation of Europe and they will design original aircrafts of the future by using their creativity. Students coming from different cultures, will learn from each other in group activities. The students will be aware of the sport activities and follow sport competitions about aviation. The students will see the relationship between the school lessons ( Maths, Art, Science and Technology, History) and aviation. They will be able to practice the school subjects in the project activities. With this way, the students will raise their grades and increase their academic success. Each partner school will check the results by using their school statistics in which abseentism and school grades are listed chronologically. With this way, we will learn whether we reach the aimed goals or not. In addition to this, “Target Group Questionnaire”, “What is aviation club?” inventory , “Aviation and me “ survey, and “After Activity” study will be implemented to the students. This studies will show us the effectiveness of the activities. We will learn whether the target group has achieved the goals or not. According to these survey results, the effects and behavioral changes that occur at students will be seen more concretely. We have partners from Italy, Spain, Poland, Slovakia and Germany. All these countries have great historical background about aviation. They have similar problems about disadvantaged students. We will carry out very suitable and useful activities with these students. These activities will be collected in a book for later use. This book will be available in the library of partner countries. It will be sent to official institutions and aviation clubs. It will be promoted in the international book fair. Through this book, future generations will benefit from this project. Within these activities, the students will have hobbies because this project will reveal their skills. They will have positive attitudes towards school. They will learn by questioning, doing and collaborating. They will also become more sensitive to the environment, share the responsibilities and help each other. They will increase their awareness by using an outdoor classroom as an alternative learning environment. The partnership will make students stronger – interculturally and communicatively. They will meet other traditions, become more aware of others’ feelings and start to feel as EU citizens. They will be aware of each other’s aviation technology. This will improve the aviation development of the world. This project will achieve dreams of many young people fascinated by the aeroplanes. We believe this project will build bridges among all of us.
