Project Summary

The aim of the project and Results
Home automation prototypes have been built in all partners with Z-Wave technology to simulate a Digital Home and teaching material associated with these trainers have been developed: 12 teaching units, with 12 videos that describe these units step by step and 12 downloadable digital e books and with QR codes for viewing on mobile devices. All this has been carried out under Creative Common Recognition (BY) licenses by the 4 European centers collaboratively. In the case of didactic units, the Creative Common Recognition (BY) and Share Alike (SA) license has been extended, so that other educational and / or professional centers can modify them according to their needs, if they are shared equally in order to extend the sustainability of the project and its impact. The prototypes are also available for companies or professionals who demand their use for external training with a temporary access to whoever demands it. Open and free training sessions were also organized for teachers, students and professionals on Zwave technology by specialists in that technology.

Profile of the participants:
The trainers, their programming, the units, the translations and the recording of the videos have been developed collaboratively by the teaching staff with their respective Vocational Training students in the 4 educational centers. To carry out the project, our Center, CIFP Ferrolterra-España, I.T.I.S. L. Da Vinci-Italy, Berufskolleg Tecklenburger Land-Germany and Second Epal Neas Ionias Volou-Greece, all well-known centers with technological, linguistic training and a firm commitment and support, have worked in it.

Technological innovation:
The Z-Wave technology chosen is innovative because it is wireless but with a working frequency of 868MHz (different from that of Wi-Fi, and therefore without interference with it and with better propagation being a lower frequency) and accessible from any mobile device .
It is a meshed technology, which gives the system great robustness and coverage, is multi-manufacturer, with high compatibility (> 2500 devices and> 700 Z Wave Alliance members) and is relatively affordable.
All this makes Z-Wave technology an emerging technology in implementation in the domestic sphere and with demand for installers in the labor market today.
The project represents a compromise between innovation and reasonable budgets. The didactic trainer with Z-Wave technology will be integrated in the future with modules with EnOcean technology, since it is more respectful with the environment, having a reduced consumption and obtaining energy from any element that can provide it. The system developed can make decisions today for the management of housing, both security and energy savings.

Dissemination:
The project has been widely disseminated by all partners in social networks, web pages of the member centers, radio, press and television. In addition to this we have participated in prestigious fairs and congresses with a large number of public, students and companies for both physical exposure of the project and speakers to explain and disseminate the project.

Methodological and international innovation:
The project has further strengthened a deep internationalization of the component centers, with ties of cooperation and even friendship between them, and has also generated the CC didactic material trainers and common methodologies among the European centers, as well as improving the skills linguistic and technological of all.

Impact and sustainability:
The sustainability of the project is implicit in the materials developed as well as in the home automation trainers that will be used by the students every year, since the project is related to the training curricula of each country. In addition, in the case of Italy, the panels will also be used to teach practical cases of STEM professions among students and in the case of Spain as already mentioned we are disseminating in the productive sector of our regional environment the availability of panels and materials for companies and Professionals for training, with a temporary username and password. We have also agreed with the new controllers with partners such as Zipamicro, Raspberry and continue developing teaching units and related materials: heating efficiency, conditional actions based on facial recognition…
