Project Summary

VISION – video school on-line is an international project of three organizations from three different countries (Germany, Slovenia and Turkey). It’s goal was to create an informal Internet guidebook with basic knowledge on video making in four different languages and with examples of good practices. The Internet guidebook was created for youngsters, youth workers, school teachers, members of different organization and associations and all others interested in video with the purpose of gaining basic knowledge, improving their projects, spreading their ideas, creating different contents and gaining or increasing their educational or employment possibilities. It contains basic knowledge of video making with a focus on practical use and creation of different formats (video collage, video clips, TV news, short featured movies, short documentaries, reportages,). The Internet guidebook is available free of charge with printing options. We want to make it accessible for different target groups regardless of their geographical, economic or social background. Video became available to a wide public through the use of smart phones, photo cameras with video mode and small cameras and with many possibilities of distribution (You tube, social networks, open TV channels,). Therefore there are also many jobs requiring this kind of skills.

During the project VISION lasting 10 months we created the content, tested its use in practice and presented the Internet site to wide public. The German and Slovenian organization with great experience in the field of video making and education were in charge for writing the content in English language and the Turkish organization tested it with a group of youngsters and a youth worker and provided feedback. The Internet site is a common work of all organizations, with the use of editorial tools we uploaded the content by ourselves and wrote it into our mother tongue. The Internet guidebook is enriched with photo and video materials and was presented to the wide public, especially youngsters, youth workers, school teachers… interested in video, through different dissemination events, existing organizational and social networks, leaflets and in the frame of our other projects and activities. Our goal is to make the Internet guidebook strongly present and widely used in a broad audience. In the future we would like to upgrade it with different local, regional, national and international activities (youth exchanges, trainings for mentors, youngsters, translation in different languages,) As well video workshops based on the Internet guidebook will be provided.

“The motion picture exceeds language, social, economic and geographic barriers!” is our motto.

The video guidebook is available free of charge on www.vision-videoschool.eu.
