Project Summary
Our projet is in keeping with the great concerns of the 21st century, namely the protection of the environment and meets the stakes of secondary education such as career planning and the improvement of the students’ IT and linguistic skills. It enables our students to become aware of their European citizenship.
We have reached our main objective by making our students discover in depth about 21 different green jobs in the partnership of 8 schools within the two years of the project. Our students have improved their linguistic skills by practising 8 different languages. They have a better command of Information Technology thanks to the frequent use of social networking, electronic mails, the Twinspace and the project’s website where they wrote comments. Their IT skills have also improved by their frequent pratice of video editing, wordprocessing and Powerpoint. They have increasingly become aware of their European citizenship by being in regular contact with children coming from the other member countries of the European Union with whom they have several points in common.
Our partnership is made up of 8 secondary schools, namely 4 middle schools located in Martinique (France), in Norway, in England and in Spain and 4 high schools in Italy, Romania, Lithuania and in Germany. Some balance has been consequently set up between the different levels of secondarty education.
We have asked our students to design brochures for the visitors of the green businesses located in their region. They also made video interviews of green professionals. They performed mock job interview role plays and created green jobs ID cards for the Final Guide of Green Jobs.
Our results are numerous and the impacts of the project can be felt at 3 levels, those of the students, of the staff and the schools themselves.
