Project Summary

Unemployment is one of the biggest challenges in contemporary Europe. People with a low educational level, few skills, or who belong to disadvantaged situations have been deeply affected by the economic crisis and those who are in a long-term unemployment situation have a high risk of permanent exclusion from the WFD.
In this context, however, an innovative adaptation of the training system to new learning needs is needed to support and develop the skills required not only by the WF but also by the social and cultural challenges posed by a globalized world: for people at risk of social vulnerability It is important to promote an innovative process of development and learning, to increase knowledge, skills and competences in a perspective of personal and social development and increasing employability.
The SEMALE project has extended and refined the skills of teachers, educators, trainers, tutors, etc (the so-called trainers), in order to put into practice effective tools to improve the basic skills and key competences of specific groups of adult learners who at the moment they are not covered by any training offer; we focused on the development of a training model aimed at trainers, to qualify and support them in actions to promote the personal, social and organizational skills of people with social disadvantages and in situations of vulnerability.
SEMALE has implemented an exchange of good practices between AE entities, in order to implement a set of useful tools, so-called Toolkit addressed to AE trainers who in their countries then tested an innovative didactic model, in order to stimulate professional integration, competitiveness, entrepreneurship, social integration, active citizenship and personal development of adult learners, and which can later be used by other AE centers and be transferred to various sectoral and geographic realities
The partnership was chosen in order to maximize the effectiveness of all the activities and the quality of the project results, as well as the impact on all parties involved and the representativeness of geographically distant and culturally different European countries (Italy, Germany , Spain, Romania, Denmark and Holland); A partner in the United Kingdom had also been identified but immediately gave up participating in the project.

The activities between the partners were coordinated by Polaris through regular communication, in English, the common language used by the project partners.
3 project meetings were held (the kick-off meeting in Denmark, an intermediate one in the Netherlands and the last one in Italy)
All meetings will be attended by all partner organizations with a delegation of 1 or 2 staff members for each partner who will then have the role of reporting the decisions taken during the meetings within each organization.
Two training events were held: C1 for trainers / teachers in the Adut Education in Germany C2 for Adult learners in Spain, lasting 10 days.
The SEMALE project will continue to produce results beyond the end of the project; its sustainability is in re ipsa since it is a project that is intended to enhance the key competences and training standards regarding the training modules and teaching methodologies related to the teaching and learning processes in adult education.
This is also why the partnership has made it clear from now on that it will be necessary to continue checking the accuracy of the guidelines, tools and the designed course over the years, identified through surveys and checklists and then to report the results on the site. of the project. The latter will also be active in the years following the end of the project and will be available to anyone interested in learning more about the activities, the results of the project and extracting copies of each type of material produced.
The website will continue to exist at the end of the project and therefore access to all the products produced will continue to be guaranteed; furthermore, all the subjects involved in the project partnership are training and / or education bodies and therefore each of them will insert the portal among its own training and updating tools for teachers and trainers.
