Project Summary
The project with the titele “Learning for future from the European history and a unique natural heritage: The Spanish civil war – test for the Legion Condor and In Asturias and Turingia meet world culture and world nature” includes two high schools from germany and Spain whose structures are comparable. The project includes visits between the two institutions but goes further of the bounderies of getting to know each other and practicing foreign languages with native speakers, because there are two special topics included to develop democracy understanding based on studying the joint history and pushing forward to value the cultural and natural heritage of the two regions and countries. The first specialized topic is called “Guernica” and it is treating the support of the Spanish facists and Francisco Franco by the German nationalsocialists and Adolf Hiteler during the Spanish civil war. The second specialized topic is called “In Asturias and Turingia world culture and world nature meet: The green Spain (Asturias) and the green heart of Germany (Turingia) get to know each other” and it tells the importance of culture and anture for a longlasting European integration. The pupils should finally see clearly the high value of the already reached level of the European integration and they should be motivated to show active engagement in future preserving of that situation. In addition to that the national curricula of the two participating schools will be extended by an international element.
