Project Summary
Along with globalization the youth unemployment has been the common problem of all countries regardless of being developed or underdeveloped . Too many young people leave school too early and adults are often only equipped with low soft skills, which increases the risk for (future) unemployment even further.The percentage of youth unemployment is frightening. The Europe 2020 strategy forsees promoting a high employment economy. To address this issue and at the same time to counteract for fighting a prognosed shortage of skilled staff appropriate actions need to be taken.
’30 is too late’ aims, through the development and training of soft skills, which are relevant to the labour market, and the usage of European Instruments (ECVET) to close an existing gap, which causes staff shortage and will fight future unemployment of low- skilled youngs.Socialization and relationship-building are a critical part of young adolescents’ lives, therefore secondary school is a perfect place and correct time to incorporate soft skill development into the school day. The trainings prove to be less effective on people in their 30s than they do on young people as well. By adding this important element to class and outside-class plans, educators help prepare students for success at future careers.
As the coordinator, we and our other partners Italy, Portugal, Macedonia,Romania and Poland are suffering from youth unemployment and with this project
we aim to;
*Both to improve existing skills among the students and teachers in our school and in the partner institutions and provide an awareness among them.
* Secondary and higher education young people will be informed about the qualifications of the business world looking for before they are taken into business life and through the project they will have opportunities to gain these proficiencies.
* Our educators who acquire these proficiencies to provide trainings throughout the province, mainly to psychological counselors and classroom guidance teachers in our institution, within the framework of dissemination of the work.
This project will provide the secondary and higher education students with more knowledge about competences required by business life and help the students gain them.Young people who are equipped with soft skills will overcome personal barriers and obstacles and this will contribute to the European 2020 strategy which aims to create a more resource efficient and greener economy.
