Project Summary

The situation of older workers at the labour market is very complicated. Current Europe faces the rising unemployment of older workers and many potential employers have ageist assumptions against them. Therefore the aim of the project is to contribute to the improvement of the skills and competencies of older workers on the European labour market. The objective is through the exchange of good practices between private and not for profit entities to come up with the methodology and training module which will address the needs of the current labour market for the citizens 50+ and provide the basis for other educating centers and organizations with regard to the education of the older workers.

The project partnership consists of 7 partners. The Lead partner is SVEFI, adult educational organization from Sweden with the experience in managing international partnership projects. Other partners come from Czech Republic, Hungary, Spain, Italy, Greece and Lithuania. The partnership includes FM Consulting, organization providing education in the field of information and communication technologies with a use of the latest technology and teaching methods ;VET organization TENDER which focuses on the training of various target groups and small and medium enterprise; TREbAG, an organization with wide experience with educating the target group and with project management. Método Consultores is experienced partner both in project management and provision of vocational training, using modern tools. Field of expertise Action Synergy is in the development of learning methodologies and educational technologies. Ziniu Kodas, a not for profit organization, is a partner which focuses on reduction of social exclusion and enables all members of our society to active participation in the labour market and it runs its own training centre.

Within the project the market research aimed at the situation of older workers on the labour market and on their skills will be conducted. The main outputs of the project will be the methodology and the training module for the target group that will be tested during the project. The partners will discuss the development of the outputs on the transnational project meetings and will disseminate the project results on the seminars in each partner organization country. The outputs will be based on the exchange of best practices and will summarize the experience of all partners in this fields.

The results of the project will be freely available online for all interested stakeholders and will therefore result in long-term benefits for the European community. The project will have impact on the participants, the participating organizations, the target group, the final beneficiaries and the stakeholders. The project will form effective partnership of organizations active in the field of the employment and education of the older workers that will bring wider benefits for European community.
