Project Summary
CONTEXT: In a European context of crisis of politics of migrants’ reception, the presence in our territories of adults in situations of exclusion has increased and requires trainers and socio-educational actors to adapt their practices and to develop new skills on intercultural issues, and the construction of effective tools and approaches in the fight against discrimination. 100 Voices is the result of a European contact seminar on the theme “Migration, human rights and screen printing” where a reflection has developed on how to train professionals in order to promote the learning of persons from immigrant backgrounds in non-formal and informal contextes and more generally their social inclusion. The three partner organisations from France, Spain and Italy gathered around the following
OBJECTIVES:
To strengthen and develop the skills of the target audience in intercultural education, human rights and non-formal education approaches as well as artistic practices in their work with migrants learners
To create and strengthen local and European networks of trainers to develop joint action strategies to promote the inclusion of migrant learners and their committment in their own path of inclusion.
To exchange, share and systematize tools and approaches as well as new pedagogies experimented in the different European territories to make them transferable.
PROFILE OF PARTICIPANTS: Trainers, socio-educational actors working with adults from immigrant backgrounds (for exemple socio-educational facilitators involved in literacy classes, educators working in professional and social integration of migrants, teachers working with allophone audience, …)
NUMBER: 15 participants for the 3 training actions and 6 for the 2 transnational meetings.
DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTIVITIES
*2 TEAM MEETINGS: 1st. Preparation, to plan and specify the activities, organization and implementation of the project management; to organize training activities. 2nd. Evaluation, to evaluate the training-action process and the results of the project, to programme the dissemination and use of the results of the project and the follow-up at local and international level.
*3 TRAINING-ACTION, one in each of the participating countries.
The first two training courses will allow to develop and strengthen skills in intercultural and human rights education, in approaches to non-formal education, as well to be initiated and trained in craft techniques of screen printing and artistic expression. The latter will allow to articulate the different approaches and tools experimented in the previous trainings, to develop training modules on intercultural and human rights, using artistic expression techniques, for adult from immigrant backgrounds’ trainers
METHODOLOGY EMPLOYED The partner organisations will be involved in the engineering and implementation of training-action activities. The methods will be participatory, active, experimental and from non-formal education. Back and forth between training and the realities of the territories as well as reflection times on the processes will be ongoing.
EXPECTED RESULTS FOR * THE PARTICIPANTS: – Increased skills and knowledge in their adult education work on human rights, intercultural and artistic practices. – Acquisition of tools and methodologies for working in migration contexts – An european scale network of adult from immigrant backgrounds’ trainers
*PARTICIPATING ORGANISATIONS: -increased skills in the management and coordination of European projects, -promotion of the international mobility of trainers, – creation and use of training modules in the field of adult migrant education – the integration of an intercultural dimension and human rights education, as well as artistic practices in the trainings provided
THE EXPECTED IMPACT AT ALL LEVELS is a major sensitivity to the consideration of intercultural in the education and training of the target audiences, but also the promotion of fundamental values and principles at the heart of the European Union, such as respect for diversity, human rights, intercultural sensitivity, etc.
