Project Summary

Violence in schools has become one of the major problems in terms of the social situation so, all the countries involved in the partnership have identified the same problem and the same desire: reducing violence through the best strategies to fight against it. The aim of this project is to reduce the incidence of all forms of violence in school reality, as a major step in preventing early school leaving as well as juvenile delinquency. We intend to improve the quality of life and education.
The objectives derived from this aim are:
1. To train teachers and form teachers coming from educational environments at high risk, to design, adapt and put into practice activities meant to prevent and reduce violence in school.
2. To make students aware of all possible types of violence, as well as the negative impact of the phenomenon, both as victim and aggressor.
3. To develop effective strategies to cope with violent issues.
4. To share experience of good practices at European level.
In order to achieve this, this strategic partnership addresses to students, teachers, parents and local community. The project intends to:
a) – empower teachers with competencies to pass their knowledge to students about different types of violence (physical, verbal, emotional, cyber, sexual violence) and bullying in the terms of causes, signs, effects on short, medium and long term. Also, to teach them how to react properly when they are identifying a violent situation.
– involve students at high risks in different activities locally to help them learn how to control their lives.
– enrich students with social abilities such as communication, assertively, expressing emotions (fears, anger, pain), respect for others’ opinions, cooperation, inclusion using different techniques and methods.
b) – compare violence issues in each country involved in the partnership in order to find the most suitable strategies/solutions.
– work on a prevention program for children
– inform parents and local community about the results of analysis and possible ways of helping children in need
c) – involve decisional factors such as police inspectorate, school directorate and child care institutions in school activities to cooperate in finding the right solutions,
– increase mobilities of staff
– develop key competences both for teachers and students.
By the activities of the project, the teachers and students will be braver against violence as they will gain skills and strategies against violence, they will learn the preventive ways and whom to turn to in case of they or persons in their environment are exposed to violence. Namely, they will gain important skills for life. Also, they will develop empathy for the victims of violence and they will need to help their peers or other people who are in such a situation. Parents and members of the local community will be informed about violence and learn how to deal with it. With the help of this project, students, teachers and the educational staff from different countries will have a chance to communicate, share their ideas and feelings on the topic. They will be able to know different cultures and countries. This project is a bridge between cultures and countries. We believe that this project will broaden teachers’, students’ and educational staffs’ horizons. The activities are various: the ones that detect the problems (surveys), follow the violence, inform the students and parents (seminars, meetings), give trainings (LTTA meeting and dissemination activities of these meetings), emotionally help students and parents (counselling programs), support students who are at the risk ( School Support Teams), apply tests that address to different needs and lof students, dissemination of good practices (guidebook of good practices), write reports to see the
process , dissemination of project, project results (infographic, online recourses). Also, throughout the project, all institutions will contribute to the project with specific reference to teaching methodologies, materials and motivations that can be adapted to the subjects of Violence and Bullying.
We envisage a strong impact on all the direct and indirect participants, at local, regional, national and European levels. The results most relevant to be isseminated- the magazine, the website, all the didactic materials, videos- will be promoted in our local meetings, advertised in the educational communities and local bodies institutions and we envisage a very strong impact on students, on educational staff, on teachers and Institutions, on families and local community. The results will be free and open to all the target groups, published on the website and media channels, delivered in schools and to local authorities, thus ensuring the sustainability of the project.
