Project Summary
For many years, the Črnuče Kindergarten has been involved in various projects related to the stay of children in the nature, as one of the visions of the Kindergarten is to enable the children involved to spend as much time as possible outdoors.
Due to the use of modern technologies, extended working hours of parents and, consequently, less and less movement, today’s children are different from the generations before them. They need more movement in the fresh air, and both movement and air are conditions for their optimum development.
Staying in the woods is an ideal environment for children with special needs, children from less stimulating backgrounds and children of immigrants. Promotes calmness and quicker contact with peers. Forest is an excellent starting point for all children in integrated classes, where through experiential learning through play, they build positive relationships and, at the same time, relationships of acceptance of diversity.
We have come to the conclusion, which is also the goal of our international project, that we need to intensify our departures to the forest. Professional staff need to be encouraged to go to the forest several times a week, regardless of the weather conditions, and there carry out and integrate content from all curricular areas.
We wish the Green Heart project with partner organizations of five kindergartens (kindergarten from Bulgaria – Kindergarden 141 “Slaveykova polyana”, kindergarten / school from Turkey “ARPACBAHSIS YARDIMCILAR ILKOKULU”, kindergarten from Greece “1o Nipiagogeio Eleftheroupolis Kavalasis”, kindergarten Laval, Pasval -Darželis Liepaitė “(who is a newcomer to Erasmus + projects, a kindergarten from Ljubljana, Slovenia” Miškolin Kindergarten “- who is also a newcomer to Erasmus +, and Črnuče Kindergarten) to share good practices and disseminate them to new environments. Ee have found that we face similar challenges in the areas of inclusion of children from less stimulating learning environments and children with special needs, as well as in the field of children’s linguistic and social competencies.
It seems important to us to take the process holistically, thereby enabling especially integrated children to develop their potentials in all areas, through repeated experiences, as they are inseparable and strongly influence one another. In doing so, we will not forget the involvement of parents, who are just as important an integral part of successful inclusion.
Children will contribute ideas for the project logo. They will be involved in the creation of a mascot, products made of natural material, games and in the preparation of an activity manual.
Professionals will prepare a compendium of activities and supplies from the natural environment that can help work for anyone educating and working with preschoolers. The knowledge will be disseminated through professional articles and through lectures, workshops and hospitals for professionals and parents. All findings will also be published in the corners and through the tools provided by Erasmus +.
The plan for the implementation of all planned activities will be carefully drafted and consistently implemented with partner organizations. It will serve to monitor the quality of project work and evaluate the work done. All conclusions will be used to disseminate knowledge among partner organizations, professionals and parents of children. We will also spread our knowledge to colleagues through the Good Practice in Kindergartens project and through articles in professional journal.
As a result, we will contribute to a better quality of teaching, strengthen the professional competences of our employees and focus on sustainably ecologically and responsibly committed individuals who will accept diversity as something that enriches us and will work both locally and globally.
The project is designed to follow the objectives of the Europe 2020 strategy and contribute to raising the profile of the teaching profession and improving the quality of pre-school education.
The project would start in September 2020 and be completed in 24 months with a presentation conference in Ljubljana.
Connecting with international partners and disseminating the findings will no doubt be much easier through Erasmus +, which makes it easier and secure to connect and execute the project internationally.
