Project Summary

The project “Ecology every day” aims at students aged 10 to 14 and relates to the adopted priority for the environment and climate. The project follows the objectives: taking responsibility for the current and future state of the environment, perceiving the threats arising from excessive exploitation of the environment, awareness of the need to protect the environment, openness to other people and their needs. 84 students will be involved in the project. Activities will be carried out by the whole school.
Protecting the natural environment is one of the most important problems of the modern world. Everything that people need for life comes from the environment. As teachers, we want to teach children to love, respect and protect nature through various activities.
We have selected several areas that in the modern world have a significant impact on people’s lives. These are waste segregation, renewable energy, water-saving and purity. Also air pollution, responsible production and consumption, endangered species due to pollution, recycling. Thus, in each school (Polish, Macedonian and Italian), the leaders in individual fields will be selected. Teachers will supervise and work with leaders to develop a curriculum. They also will make a task schedule and create international groups in given fields, develop advertising slogans. They will correspond with each other online, exchange experiences. During the implementation of the project, each of the fields will be, for two months, according to the agreed schedule, a leading field. The partner schools will put in place joint ventures: discussion panels, multimedia presentations, competitions, meetings, recording movies. Besides, activities from other (low priority) fields will continue throughout the project. There will be three student trips during the time of the project. The partner schools will summarize activities related to the leading fields in a given period. It will also be an opportunity to integrate international teams. As well as free communication of students in a foreign language. They will enrich their intercultural knowledge and exchange experiences connected to environmental protection. The methods and tools developed will raise ecological awareness and find ways of preventing climate crisis daily. All project activities will be carried out by active methods that develop creativity. Some of the methods include workshops, group work using modern technologies: telephones, computers, applications and programs, cameras. The other methods will be the use of sewing machines, creating board games, multimedia presentations, fieldwork, meetings with specialists from various natural fields, trips.
The result of two years of work will be understanding the human impact on the environment. The effects of our activities will be an appreciation of the value of the natural environment. The students will understand the need for daily activities to improve the state of the environment. They will take appropriate action by using various sources of information. Besides, the result of our activities will be the exchange of experiences with peers from different countries. We will form friendships and effective learning of a foreign language. This will make it easier for students to get basic skills and key competences and improve them. We will use digital tools that are the most popular among students.
The project helps students understand that people from a young age must work together and make a conscious effort to use nature wisely. They should take care of nature every day, regardless of where they live, to create a better future together.
