Project Summary
BACKGROUND
Sustainability and digitalisation are two central topics that move young generations in many nations. These subjects change and determine the future lifestyle of people. To meet these challenges, it is necessary to engage as society as a whole and from different levels. Particularly young people should be able to realize their overall potential. They have to be strengthened in their abilities in order to play an active role for a sustainable lifestyle in continuously digitalised societies. For this, new educational opportunities are needed that promote personal abilities like creativity, critical thinking and solution-oriented action according to a guiding principle of sustainable development. Additionally, a reflective manner with digital media is essential as these are important preconditions for social participation.
This is exactly the point where EYSAD starts. In the project, innovative learning and teaching opportunities for youth work will be developed, which support a reflective examination of sustainability by means of digital media. The project addresses both young people as well as youth workers and leaders and follows a participatory approach assisted by both target groups.
GOALS
-Awareness-raising for challenges in environmental and climate protection with reference to personal behaviour
-Acquisition of basic knowledge on sustainability and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations (17 SDGs) as well as their global interconnections
-Strengthening of digital competences by means of using and developing digital media
-Promotion of further education of qualified employees within the field of youth work and/or education
-Support of young people and youth workers to become actors of change for a sustainable development
PARTICIPANTS
The partner consortium consists of five organisations from four countries. The social enterprise Studio2B GmbH from Germany develops innovative, digital concepts and methods for vocational training among others. Youth Bridges Budapest is a foundation in Hungary founded by young people with sound knowledge in youth work and exchange. Active Youth Association is an organisation in Lithuania that works together with young people in need and local communities. Marketing Gate is an association for research, education and development in Northern Macedonia with professional experience in marketing measures for sustainable development and non-formal education. Stiftung Bildung is a charitable organisation with projects related to (non-formal) educational work for youngster with a focus on Education for Sustainable Development among others. Additionally, youths and youth workers from the partner organisations will be included in the activities of the project.
ACTIVITIES
The above-mentioned goals will be reached by different activities. Overall, three Intellectual Outputs (IOs) will be developed for which a staff training with youth workers and a blended mobility with youngster will be carried out. Multiplier Events in the different countries serve as additional dissemination activites and promote the use of the IOs beyond the project.
EXPECTED RESULTS
The joint collaboration encourages exchange among the different stakeholders and makes the development of target group oriented materials (IOs) possible,
1) A 360° EnvironmentPhototour serves as interactive learning and teaching medium for youth workers and youths alike. Local challenges of environmental and climate protection in European countries as well as solution approaches are displayed narratively by means of visual media.
2) A concept for a train-the trainer including OER material serves to offer future further training for youth workers and leaders to enable them to independently develop 360° photo tours with young people.
3) A guidebook offers knowledge on the integration of sustainability by means of digital media in youth work as well as examples of good practice by EYSAD.
The IOs serve the follow up of the above-mentioned goals and a long-term application as well as the usage of digital (audio-visual) media in connection with subjects of sustainability in youth work.
