Project Summary
‘Generativity’aimed at improving the capacity of social sector organizations to develop and implement projects in an innovative, effective and sustainable way. The conceptional framework for the developed training materials is the Project Cycle Management methodology (PCM). The training materials put very much forward the use of ICT and ICT tools as extremely useful tools for transnational & local projects and other activities implemented by social sector organizations. The online learning modules (IO2) and tutorials (IO3) allowed social organization staff, and adult learners in general, to effectively respond to challenges encountered in their daily work: how to better support vulnerable communities and individuals and how to respond to staff’s training needs despite of limited (time and monetary) resources. Learning took place in 2 ways: Either through direct participation in local multiplier events (MEs) a or by accessing the outcomes online.
Beneficiaries were project partners and staff working with social sector organizations in the 7 partners countries (BE, FR, GR, IT, PL, UK, CY). Staff from partners with less PCM skills (FEANTSA, fio.PSD, FAS) received training by PCM senior professionals from the expert partners Diciannove, Danmar, UTH, CARDET and EEC. Generativity was able to directly reach out to 216 beneficiaries in 7 countries through the national multiplier events, to 22 beneficiaries during the LTTA and to 1403 individuals (initial target 1000) all over Europe who downloaded the modules and 2366 users who watched the tutorials online.
The partnership comprises 9 partners from 7 countries:
– 1 European umbrella organization- FEANTSA is the European network of homeless service providers (coordinator, Brussels);
– 2 national umbrella organizations which provide support and services to different vulnerable groups: fio.PSD (IT) and FAS (FR);
– 5 local organizations with specific knowledge on ICT, training/learning, development and implementation of European projects: Danmar (PL), Diciannove (IT), EEC (UK), CARDET (CY), KEA (GR);
– the University of Thessaly as academic expert in education and life-long-learning (GR).
To reach its objectives, Generativity implemented the following activities:
•Partners jointly developed the IO1 educational platform on Project Cycle Management which provides an extensive selection of resources on PCM, including relevant documents of the European Commission. Leading partners were Diciannove and Danmar. IO1 was widely disseminated by all partners.
• Partners jointly developed IO2- online training modules for professionals in the social sector and other adult learners on project development & implementation and relevant ICT tools (leading CARDET and Diciannove, UTH in charge of evaluation & feedback).
• The modules were thoroughly pre-tested. Expert partner UTH pre-tested the modules with 30 university students, all partners pretested the modules during the 5-days LTTA.
• All partners jointly produced the tutorials (IO3), videos for self-study which allow users to familiarize themselves with 6 IT tools which are particularly useful for the planning and the implementation of projects (lead EEC, Danmar leading on evaluation and feedback).
• All partners disseminated the three IOs during national multiplier events (half-day to full-day) reaching out to local social sector organizations, adult and youth learners and vulnerable individuals. FEANTSA, as a European umbrella organization, organized a European multiplier event at its annual policy conference 2017 which allowed for additional dissemination among FEANTSA’s 114 member organizations (additional activity, not in bid).
Through the development and the extensive dissemination of innovative, effective training materials which are easy to access and use, Generativity
– contributed sustainably to capacitate social sector organizations in Europe, and particularly in the 7 partners countries, to build innovative projects to respond to social challenges at local level,
– fostered participation in learning activities, particularly among adults, fostered learning autonomy and responsibility and hence contributed to the sense of active citizenship;
– built and strengthened digital skills among social sector professionals, adult & youth learners and disadvantaged groups (e.g. unemployed, migrants, refugees);
– contributed to the employability and labour market inclusion of beneficiaries and particularly of vulnerable groups. Generativity hence contributed to a more inclusive society.
– Generativity ensures longer-term benefits: The platform (IO1) ensures the availability of the high-quality self-learning materials (IO2&3) also after the project duration. Project partners, participants of the MEs and users who accessed the training materials through self-study will continue to use the acquired skills and knowledge to design and implement better, innovative, effective and sustainable solutions and projects.
