Project Summary
STEP project is a capacity building in the field of Youth including 2 European partners (France and Spain) and four Latin American partners (Peru, Uruguay, Ecuador, Colombia) to improve the quality of their volunteering projects management. Regarding the needs assessment that has been done, all these organizations expect to get more skills and knowledge to ensure high quality management of volunteering management and especially those which include international volunteers.Capacity building activities:• Workshop 1 training in Spain on the following topics:To ensure security in Youth volunteering management;To realize a field needs assessment for a relevant Youth volunteering intervention;To implement the logistics in Youth volunteering management.• Workshop 2 training in Peru on the following topics:To develop quality Youth volunteering management and mentorship tools and methods in Non EU countries.The training workshops will be on site (not online). The first one in Madrid, Spain, and the 2nd one, in Lima, Peru. The duration is 5 days including hosting organizations projects on site visit. Mobility activities: • Volunteering mobility projects: practice phaseThe workshop tools will be put into practice by the Latin American partners. The two European sending structures will both send 2 young volunteers to each hosting partners for a mobility period of 6 months (including at least two peoplle with fewer opportunities). In total eight volunteers will be deployed.• Youth Workers mobility projects:2 less experienced hosting organisations (in Ecuador and Uruguay) will also receive 1 youth worker sent by ADICE for a job shadowing (exchange of experience, sharing support and advices on mentoring). These mobility projects will last 7 days.• Innovative tools:Creation and dissemination of 3 pedagogical videos and a guideline focused on the high quality management methods and tools to ensure deep and relevant mentoring for young volunteers deployed in Non EU countries. In addition, 2 testimony videos (1 done by 1 partner representative, 1 done by a volunteer) focused on volunteering management, will be created and shared.• Final seminar Large scale final conference:A final evaluation and multiplication seminar and a large scale conference with minimum 100 people will be organized to disseminate largely the project results (trainings contents, innovative tools such as guideline and video over high quality mentoring of Youth volunteering projects in Non EU countries. This project is a real opportunity for all the partners to collaborate together and improve their volunteering management (security, needs assessment, logistics, projects management and mentoring) and to develop innovative materials to share the good practices and tools in volunteering management and mentorship.
