Project Summary
Context/background of project:
This project aim at equipping education and training systems to face the challenges presented by the recent sudden shift to online and distance learning, including supporting teachers to develop digital competences and safeguarding the inclusive nature of learning opportunities. The current COVID-19 crisis has greatly accelerated the need for modernisation and digital transformation of vehcile education and training in Europe. It has urgent needs to reinforce the ability of education and training institutions to provide high quality, inclusive digital education. COVID-19 cris clearly shows necessity of building capacity to implement online, blended and distance teaching and learning; to develop digital pedagogical competences of educators, enabling them to deliver high quality inclusive digital education; and to develop and/or use high quality digital content such as innovative online resources and tools. The partnerships will promote networking of institutions across the EU, sharing of resources and expertise, and collaboration with digital technology providers and experts in educational technologies and relevant pedagogical practice, to develop tailor made solutions adapted to local development needs. Due to the major technological shift the vehicle sector is experiencing, with a combination of electric powered and hybrid vehicles, the need for expertise will be quickly affected by increased demand in new technology areas as well.
Objectives
Our goal is to develop digital teaching an traning skills and content scheme that contributes to necessary steps forward to meet the major technological shift that the vehicle sector is experiencing, with a combination of electric powered and hybrid vehicles. The need for expertise will be quickly affected by increased demand in new technology areas. This is already evident in, for example, electrical and hybrid operations, where demand is high but supply is limited. We will gather ideas with the aim of facilitating the transfer of new knowledge and reducing distance and pandemic barriers by sharing costly equipment and materials within vehicle VET through cooperation.
Methodology:
The flipped classroom method with recorded lectures and subsequent active learner-oriented workshops in the classroom/workshop. Ways to prepare and deliver teaching and training; main pedagogical and didactic aspects for the digital education and training with a focus on the needs of vehicle teachers. How to produce a video clip based on the practical contents in the curriculum.
Activities
IO Handbook with main pedagogical and didactic aspects for the digital education and training with a focus on the needs of vehicle teachers
IO Script for producing video clip focused on the practical procedure of the high-voltage” on an e-car as a digital learning unit “high-voltage technology in e-mobility”
IO On-line digital traning videos with focus on learners and e-vehciels learning and traning objectives
Three Multiplier Events
One Learning, Teaching, Training Activities
Dissemination, Management, Evalutation
Results and impact:
Strengthened capacity and skills in education and training institutions in vehicle VET to provide high quality, inclusive digital education. Reinforced ability building capacity to implement online, blended and distance teaching and learning; to develop digital pedagogical and didactic competences of vehicle VET instructors, enabling them to deliver digital education; and to develop and/or use digital content such as innovative online resources and learning tools. New faster and more flexible digital educational content with increased possibilities of keeping updated with know how and equipment for teacher and learners as technology advances to have a chance to renew their skills as technology advances. Improved digital transition process at all levels. Teachers in the way they prepare and deliver teaching and training; main pedagogical and didactic aspects for the digital education and training with a focus on the needs of vehicle teachers. How to produce a video clip based on the practical contents in the curriculum. Developing the content for video, idea, script, content, preparing the physical workshop for recording, recording the video, editing the video and how to improve traning and education with digtal means.
Long term:
VET managers receives better opportunities due to increased digital competence in the organizationto secure the right competences in the teacher faculty and in the year planning and digital culture change. VET management receives better opportunities promoting and handling the response to a massive digital culture change in the organisation. Facilitate the maintenance of education during a crisis e.g. COVID-19.
