Project Summary

The project: “Teacher’s Compendium – Psychological and Educational Aspects of Work” assumes the development of an innovative publication in a compact and digital form on an e-platform along with 20 e-learning courses complementing the content of the publication.
The main assumption and goal of the project is to develop and implement, as part of international cooperation, comprehensive and innovative, widely available tools and methods for supporting teachers who conduct educational activities in Poland and also abroad.
Innovative internships will strengthen the competences of teachers and institutions of Polish diaspora schools through:
1. Raising: teachers’ knowledge and competences in the field of psychological and pedagogical aspects of work; teachers’ knowledge and competences in working with the digital platform; competences of teaching staff from the coordinating organization conducting training and providing advice to new groups of recipients.
2. Development and implementation of: “Teacher’s Compendium – Psychological and Educational Aspects of Work”, an e-platform compatible with the content of the compendium (print version) with 20 e-learning courses.
3. Providing access to the results of intellectual work with ongoing support to participating organizations and other entities and persons conducting educational activities in Poland and abroad.
The analysis of the needs of Polish teachers in many countries shows the need for training related to the improvement of psychological, pedagogical and digital competences, based on modern content and methods.

Among them and students, the pandemic forced the use of new technologies. These needs are important due to the large number of children and young people of Polish origin in Western Europe. The needs analysis carried out among project target groups in partner organizations showed the lack of adequate Teachers support in solving psychological problems, especially in times of pandemic, and insufficient knowledge about new and innovative methods of working with the student. The project is a response to the real needs of institutions providing Polish education abroad.
Innovation consists in the preparation of trainings in the field of psychology and pedagogy as well as working with ICT that refer to the content of the Compendium, which will help teachers working on the e-platform and improve the workshop of the teaching staff.
Partners: Foundation of the Polish Academy of Social Sciences and Humanities (PL), Polish Academy of Social Sciences and Humanities (GB), Associació Cultural Escuela Polaca (ES), Consiglio dell’Istruzione in lingua Polacca (IT). The partners were selected based on the following criteria: training experience, experience in international cooperation, institutional and human resources, demographic (with the largest number of Polish diaspora) and geographic (European continent) background.
Associated partners: Dobra Szkoła New York (USA), Polish School at the Polish Embassy in London (GB).

In order to achieve the project objectives, the following activities have been planned – organizations belonging to the project group will:
participate in international project meetings for managing project and working on results;
─ participate in training for employees of project organizations;
─ co-create teaching materials;
─ develop and disseminate the results of intellectual work (RIW);
─ organize and participate in events popularizing the RIW;
─ exchange experiences and good practices.
The results achieved, especially the results of intellectual work, will be presented at meetings and conferences. The recipients will be teachers of organizations dealing with Polish diaspora education. The resources will be made available for download from the website of project.
Project will have a significant impact on: increasing psychological, pedagogical and digital teachers competences; strengthening, improving and supporting professional development of Polish community abroad and increasing the quality of school work, e.g. by using innovative methods and forms of work, information and communication technologies (e-learning courses); improving the quality of teaching of Polish diaspora institutions participating in project and their impact on the Polish community; strengthening the quality of the educational offer of Polish diaspora institutions not directly involved in project activities. The dissemination of the RIW will allow for the sharing of resources and expertise, enabling them to be used by all institutions and persons teaching in Polish abroad, also not participating in project.
All RIW products will be made available as part of Open Educational Resources on the platform, links on project’s website. There are no restrictions on access to the material.
In the long term, after the completion of project, the partners plan to continue working together on resources and extend the cooperation to other institutions.
