Project Summary
In total five secondary schools will be involved in the project named “International ICT competitions for increasing the quality of secondary education II”. We would like this project to build on the successful Erasmus + project that took place in the years 2015-2018 in the field of international contests in the control of the office package. The main objective of the follow-up project is to increase the level of ICT skills and good command of office pack, edit video, picture, 3D modeling in English environment (for our students strange, unoriginal environment) which help increase their qualification and facilitate their labor market position, or can help for further education.
Within the two-year period, the project will be carried out five project meetings (each in a different country) a combined with a short-term student stay. During the stay five international student competitions in ICT skills will take place. To prepare for the competition, students can use the current brochure of examples, which is focused on control of office pack, which we can be downloaded from www.ictcompetition.eu. This brochure is main outputs of past project. New competitions will be extended by creation and editing graphic work, multimedia, 3D modeling and effective using internet. The main innovation benefit of the competition will be not only to expand the competition for other areas of ICT but to compete with two-tier teams where communication in foreign language, collaboration and creativity will be needed. In preparation for the competition and selection of students for the international competition, the school rounds of the competition will be organized. Two teachers and four students of secondary schools will take part in the international meetings.
Competition tasks will be in English (for students it is not their mother tongue). The main aim of teacher meetengs is to prepare international competitions (creation of examples, creation of evaluation methods, organizing of school competitions, exchange of experience and prezentation of new teaching methods in ICT and foreign language teaching).
The main coordinator will be Secondary school from Crnomelj (Slovenia).
Partners:
1) Salesian Vocational Training School with four different specialties: Mechanics, Telecommunications, Commerce and Administration management in Alcoy (Spain).
2) The Mendel secondary school in Novy Jicin (Czech Republic) has coordinated the past project with the theme of an international competition and has 15 years of experience in organizing regional competitions at its school.
3) Agrupamento de Escolas Dr. Serafim Leite in S. João da Madeira. The school has a very diverse offer as far as courses are concerned. It is mainly in the areas of the Sciences of Life; Computer Science and ICT, Eletronics, Mecatronics, Visual Arts.
4) HAK Weiz is an economics secondary school with a focus on business informatics and special class in computer sciences.
The outputs (examples, ideas, experiences) will be processed in written form – a booklet, and also available to those interested through web pages of the project.
Examples will also be translated into national languages. These examples can be used to prepare students for lessons, projects, CLIL, testing and evaluation. Competition results will be published on individual school websites. The project website will be active at least two years after the end of the project. All school partners will have big motivation to continue collaborating in the development in the future because the cooperation in the future brings to each school very high reputation in the field of ICT literacy, communication skills and exchange of experinece on the international level.
