Project Summary

The project “Stadl an der Mur meets Fagagna – Fagagna meets Stadl an der Mur” enables students from Austria and Italy to work together on topics like foreign languages (German; Italian) as well as the exchange of traditions. The Austrian school will take part in the exchange project with around three teachers and around ten students between 12-14 years. The Italian school will take part in the exchange project with around three teachers and around twenty students between 11-13 years. During the other parts of the project in these 24 months the whole school takes part in some parts like the project week connected with the European Day of Languages.
Throughout the whole project time teachers and students from both countries will work on the topics foreign languages, different cultures and customs. To reach this educational goal we work with different digital devices and programmes e. g. skype or eTwinning. Students get the unique possibility to present their own culture, mother tongue and lifestyle to peers. Due to this exchange from teachers and students neighbouring countries grow together. Additionally this project broadens the horizon of each participant and it minimises prejudices.
The collective visit of museums like the museum about crafts in Fagagna and the musuem about wood in St. Ruprecht ob Murau shows the importance of traditions and resources. By those visits experts become part of our project to integrate expertise know-how into the educational part of our project.
The aim is to promote the European idea and the internationality of the partner schools, to provide cross-border working and learning experiences for the participating students and to increase their personal, social and intercultural competences. Both partner schools have the desire to have more common projects after this one and see it as the beginning of a longterm school collaboration. After the project, the works that were created together should remain in the schools as visible signs of the collaboration between both partners.
