Project Summary

Summary:
We look back on a successful project implementation. We were able to fulfill the high demands on us and the contents of our project and meet the associated challenges. Europe has come a step closer in the context of our project on a direct level. Through the exchange, we were able to create islands of togetherness and connect people with one another and were enthusiastic about the objectives of the European Union. At the same time, we have managed to get young people actively involved in the history of their countries of origin and partner countries. The experience of the individual, tragic destinies of the people led to an emotional concern to grow up a feeling, not to let this happen again. The lines on the memorial wall in Dachau “NEVER AGAIN” have burned into the memory of all. All of us will try to do our part to make you feel like “never again” with life, friendship and being together.

 Aims:
We were able to increase the intended goals in the promotion of foreign language skills and the related enthusiasm to learn the selibgen. The importance of foreign languages became clear to students in direct exchange with partners, friends and families and leads to sustainable success. Furthermore, all participants have experienced what it means to live in a networked and common European framework. We could strengthen the acceptance of each other by recognizing the common and parallel history. Only if we learn together from each other will we be able to live together in peace.

Number and profile of the participants:
The directly participating groups of people referred to 11 pupils each and 2 teachers of the partner schools plus the accompaniment of a teacher trainee. Furthermore, partners from the region and representatives of various institutions were actively involved in the planning and implementation: business partners, architects, representatives of public life and local communities.

 Description of activities:
 – Visit to the Dachau & Vucovar Memorial
 – Conducting workshops at both partner schools
 – Joint activities to reduce prejudice
 – Tracking reports of eyewitnesses in Germany and Croatia
 – Creating a movie about the backgrounds and the results of the project
 – Construction of a meeting and dialogue place

 Methodology:
Our methodology was aimed at an action-oriented and motivating, historical and contemporary approach. An authentic learning took place in the concrete place, subject and object. History became tangible and tangible. The SuS were inspired to think and developed co-operative and action-oriented strategies through concrete learning in order not to revive the experiences and experiences of the history.
Teaching foreign languages in tandem work and opening up the perspective for the European labor market should be mentioned here as a selection of methods. Media involvement on platforms for communication and project planning as well as the evaluation and creative design of final products rounded off the work here.

 Results:
Through the design of the dialogue place and film offered an examination of the history and the current challenges. From this, a lasting awareness was created among the participants that our today’s peaceful coexistence within the EU on understanding, cohesion and acceptance is based. Our students have matured a bit through the project and are thus moving towards being responsible Europeans for our common future.
