Project Summary

Two secondary schools from two EU countries – the Czech Republic and Germany – cooperated in the project. The partnership was established on the basis of previous contacts. As part of the project, we organized 4 mobility meetings according to the description and schedule of the project.
The target groups of the project were pupils and teachers of schools, as well as the wider regional community involved in the presentation of cultural heritage and national culture and representatives of regional self-government, cultural and social institutions.
The project is a success, even though we are new to the field. The main planned goals of our project were completely met. They focused in particular on developing young people’s understanding of the diversity of European culture and languages, enriching pupils’ knowledge of the common cultural heritage and culture of the partner country, motivating pupils to expand their knowledge through their own creative work and joint activities, and thus supporting and awakening interest in European cultures, identification with them and cultural heritage.
We dealt with the issue of cultural heritage not only with regard to the current topic, but also from the point of view of the professional topic, especially for pupils of secondary vocational school, a field focusing on tourism.
A significant advantage of the project is the partnership between specific students, teachers and public institutions in the local community. It is also beneficial for the further development of both schools and cooperation with other, especially cultural organizations. Currently, we have followed up on this result in the field of history and art history, through further cooperation with the Bauhaus Museum and Bauhaus sites in Thuringia.

The project improved the communication competencies of all participants in the field of foreign languages and practical skills in working with ICT.
Together, we have supported the idea of tolerance between nations with different cultures, learned to accept it and see its values.
Pupils’ knowledge in the field of history, foreign languages and tourism was enhanced through modern teaching methods of project teaching.
The project enabled participants to implement joint activities that had a common theme and in which they could express their interests and skills, we combined formal and non-formal education in partner schools with an emphasis on the overall development of pupils’ personalities.
An important goal achieved was also the development of independence, responsibility and creativity of students, learning about the culture, mentality and life of the partner country, and we believe that we have contributed to better inclusion of project participants in a multicultural society of the 21st century.
We have also established very beneficial contacts with other institutions with the aim of deepening cooperation in the future in accordance with the European internationalization strategy of our partner schools.

All these main goals of the project were met. Until the final work on the project incl. Unfortunately, the coronavirus pandemic in Europe and its aftermath affected the summarisation of outputs, in particular the closure of schools in both countries and the impossibility of meeting. Students processed all planned outputs of the project.

The implementation of the project created a strong partnership, which we will use in further international cooperation in the future. Both partner schools use and will use the results of the project within the educational process, especially presentations, all project outputs and information materials obtained during the project implementation, especially in history, cultural history, geography, tourism, civics, professional communication, incl. other school activities in the field of lifelong learning.
