Project Summary

In both schools students expressed the desire to cooperate more closely. With this in mind, it was decided that the students would make videos with the partner school. The videos incorporate common European values and regional idiosyncrasies, e.g. regarding the school system. Teachers in both schools supported the idea of the project in order to intensify the partnership and to encourage even more students to discover more about our common culture and international cooperation.

Students from S2 and S3 (later S3/S4) worked together in mixed groups. All students attend classes in their partners’ language as part of their curriculum. Motivated participants were selected to insure a focused execution of the project and a pleasant working atmosphere (group dynamics).

First the project partners developed the basic content via email, social media and in video conferences. Next the participating institutions compared their interests and developed the script together. The participants visited each other and bi-national teams shot the videos. In the end the results should have been presented and evaluated (which didn’t happen because of the covid-19 pandemic). The progress of the project was documented.

The projects was offered to the students immediately after having been approved and participants were chosen. With the teachers’ support, the students created the content for the scripts, cooperating with their foreign counterparts. The students communicated primarily using digital technology. Small bi-national teams worked on different parts of the scripts and shot the films during their stays at the partner school.

Short videos on each of the participating schools have been produced. As a consequence of data protection precautions in both schools the videos have only been published to a limited degree. Furthermore, some videos have not been finished because of the implications of the covid-19-pandemic. This is planned for spring 2021, when the implications of the covid-19-pandemic will hopefully have eased up.

Students acquired diverse inter-cultural competences through interaction with their counterparts and by discovering regional differences.

Both schools strive to maintain a long-lasting partnership. The presentations are (will be) available to other partner schools of the participating institutions and the general public in the area (again according to data protection regulations). Furthermore, it is available on the online result-platform. The results are (will be) available via the homepages of both schools.
