Project Summary

This training course “Equeerdad – educational tools to promote the Equity of LGBTIQ children and youth” will take place from the 5th to the 15th of March 2021 in Trasmulas, Granada, Spain. The aim of this training will be to offer a space to share good practices and to learn about successful educational methodologies which empower young LGBTIQ people and which help to understand the sexual diversity in its complexity, which means in all its forms and with its intersections with other forms of discrimination like racism and sexism. We will train educators, trainers, LGBTIQ activists and other persons active in youth work in dinamic and participative methodologies promoting non-discrimination, especially creative non-formal educational tools like Digital Storytelling, the Theatre of the Opressed and CreaVídeo in order to promote equity, empowerment and active participation of LGBTIQ children and youth. During the training there will be space and time to create a network between the participants and their associations and to motivate the multipliers of youth work to apply and dissiminate the innovative pedagogical concepts and methodologies and to create new local and international youth projects defending the social inclusion and well-being of LGBTIQ children and youth. We hope that this networking activity will empower the social society organisations who are working for the respect of human rights of LGBTIQ young people, and that it will foster the cooperation between the participating associations and facilitate the creation of new joint projects. We will create a blog to publish the main project results and learning outcomes as well as relevant information concerning the LGBTIQ movement in the participating countries in spanish, italian and portuguese language. We also will create a video resuming the project activities and showing interviews with the participants on the local situation of LGBTIQ youth and the impact they want to achieve with the help of the pedagogical tools they will learn during the training.
