In a growingly diverse Europe, education for diversity and common European values is crucial for a sustainable construction of the European Union in social cohesion. The purpose of the Technology Enhanced Learning for Social Literacy (TEL4SL) was to provide an effective model that integrates solid pedagogical tools enhanced by relevant technologies that may be easily replicable in other European cultural and educational contexts, promoting active and sustainable European citizenship.
Following UNESCO, OECD, EC and national priorities, the project gave the beneficiaries the possibility to analyse, interpret and understand from new perspectives, the most structuring themes of their personal development for active and responsible citizenship, by focusing in challenging activities that provide a strong experiential component.
The main project goals, accomplished successfully were:
– Promote a new vision of a pedagogical exhibitions that brings people of different age groups, social classes and minorities together, discovering the fundamental values that build peace and understanding.
– Promote informal and non-formal technology enhanced learning environments and their permeability with formal education systems, which develop and assess personal, social and civic skills in a fun, innovative and creative way.
– Develop inclusive and interactive software applications, with innovative pedagogical resources, to be used in mobile devices.
– Develop and test ICT monitoring tools that allow following and assessing the learners’ patterns and outcomes of interacting and learning in pedagogical exhibitions and in classrooms.
– Develop and deploy integrated Social Literacy training courses to key stakeholders for sustainable development and assessment of transversal skills in formal, non-formal and informal learning environments.

The consortium from 5 countries (Portugal, Malta, Netherlands, Czech Republic and Albania) has developed, tested and defined adequate technological equipment regarding their strengths and weaknesses for multimedia and interactive content and learning process, not only school based, but also at pedagogical exhibitions and museums as a complementary solution for the consolidation of common European values and transversal skills in curricula implementation. As well as a sustainability model that that allows multiplication and replication to other learning settings in the EU, supporting entrepreneurial ventures in social services.
