Project Summary

The main objective of the project is to support educators working with adults (teachers, instructors, trainers, mentors etc.) in making use of various ICT and other solutions that improve the quality and accessibility of adult learning. The project shall contribute to increasing adults’ participation in lifelong learning activities.

The concept was built around partners’ experiences, in response to a problem identified through statistical data at national and European levels. There is a clear need to support educators’ professional competences, particularly with regard to digital literacy and new methods of reaching and motivating adult learners.

The direct goals of the project include creating a database about ICT and modern methods in adult education, enhancing partners’ potential as providers of adult education and expertise in this area, as well as generating resources (scenarios, solutions, approaches etc.) that will help educators across Europe develop their online offer.
Experts from all partner organisations will develop solutions within three modules: 1) competences and tools necessary for educators to transfer their activities to an online environment; 2) the use gamification as a motivating tool and 3) the application of project-based learning to online educational activities. The results of their work will be made publically available via a website which will serve as a dissemination tool.

The project involved three groups of participants: experts-educators from each partner organisation, the coordinating team and external educators to be invited from among local communities and institutions for testing the solutions devised by the expert group.

The team of experts will be responsible for preparing solutions in all three modules. They will employ the Design Thinking method to ensure quality, relevance and applicability of the proposed tools and methods.

The international character of the project and the involvement of partners with different backgrounds and areas of expertise will provide an excellent opportunity for exchanging good practices, pooling knowledge and other resources and mutual learning in the field of adult education and the use of ICT.

The project will culminate in a final conference, where experts will present the entirety of their work and its results to adult education stakeholders invited by the host: educational institutions, bodies supporting professional development of educators and other NGOs working in the field of adult education. The conference will be a key step in the process of disseminating results and furthering cooperation among stakeholders, also through a set of mini showcase workshops open to all guests and participants.
