Project Summary

The vocational guidance for the 7th and 8th graders of secondary school is often overlooked or misunderstood and experienced a number of increasingly more students and parents. From this observation was born the idea of our project, which aims to help the students aged 13-15, to perceive in a different way their student status, thus getting involved and active in raising the level of their professional guidance. At this age is projected the vocational guidance in all countries of the project partners. The activities proposed in this project are meant to start the cooperation between the school, the local community and industry in order to foster the success of each student concerned. We believe that the project should be conducted transnationally because we aim to help students become aware of the existence in the EU of numerous successful professional perspectives that are facilitated within an appropriate professional guidance. Now all partner countries offer student orientation activities, but which are dispersed and local. The project partnership will enable local actions to correlate at the school level, their enrollment in school projects and more importantly, the reciprocity of experiences at a European level. The project is realistic and it corresponds to the needs of the target group and enrolls in the school policy in Italy, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Great Britain and Romania. Also, the priorities and objectives of the project are part of the Institutional Development Plan of the coordinating school, enrolling in the national policy of putting into practice information covered by professional orientation and of discovering the economic and professional environment.
Our project objectives are:
1.Increasing the degree of knowledge of their own aptitudes and abilities for 40 elementary school students, aged between 13 and 15, coming from poor areas of the community , until August 2020.
2. Reducing admission failure at the desired high school/profile for 40 elementary school students, aged between 13 and 15, coming from poor areas of the community , until August 2020.
By achieving these objectives (goals) we aim to offer every student the opportunity to go as far as possible in their approach to vocational guidance, to succeed using their skills.
Given the way the partnerships in the project were selected, taking into account the percentage of pupils from socio-professional categories that are disadvantaged, we want to facilitate the transition between the school and their future employment, and avoiding, for some of them , school drop-out. At the same time, we aim to reduce any possible differences in accumulating knowledge about the role of professional guidance in finalizing an educational trail, which affects students from disadvantaged backgrounds with fewer opportunities.
The project impact is measurable, given that all students have to choose a professional orientation at the end of secondary school. Also it can see the evolution of parallelism between the students and family options, on the one hand, and the actual orientation chosen by them after they finish their studies.
The project has a well-determined time duration, 24 months be enough for us to be able to put into practice the proposed activities and to cycle safely, without destabilizing students and teams involved.
Each partner will have 90 minutes weekly fot the project, the activities of the teachers, students, or together, so that the workload should not be excessive, but to be able to exchange information, on skype, e mail, visits abroad, interventions of stakeholders.
The novelty that the project brings is related to its theme, addressed at a European level. Most students rarely attend linguistic exchange on European trips in schools, or meetings with Europeans. The actions taken in schools are almost always local and a European project offers the chance for students to perform activities based on national practice quizzes, which then share them among themselves at European level in order to put into practice the common results.
