Project Summary

Project “Coding, robotics and digital teaching in Europe” was realized from 1st November 2017 to 31st October 2019 by three schools: Franciszek Leja State School in Grodzisko Górne as a coordinating country as well as partners, Ciro Scianna from Italy and Kecskeméti SZC Gáspár András Szakközépiskolája és Szakiskolája from Hungary.
Superior aim of the project was to arrange cooperation and exchange of good practises among those schools in coding, robotics, science, English and programming in particular programming languages. Another one was to attract students’ attention to those subjects and it was successful.
In main project activities were involved groups from 8 to 14 students and 3 teachers from each country in each year. Students were chosen on the ground of ICT and robotics achievements, English language level as well as subject marks and behaviour.
All the planned project activities were fulfilled. Among those were 4 short-term exchanges of groups of pupils, 4 transnational project meetings, events connected with promotion of the project matters, Erasmus+ programme and partner schools, common pupils’ learning during mobility and taking part in competitions. The promotion and information activities were undertaken all the time through the project durance. It took place during conferences, competitions, breaking a record of Poland in the number of robots operating in one place at the same time, through promoting materials, press articles and TV news.
The project had a positive influence on all schools. More students became interested in robotics and programming as well as started to attend robotics and programming classes, which was especially seen in Ciro Scianna, where more students chose this school because of the fact that there are additional coding and robotics classes. Besides, students started to attach a greater importance to English learning. Once began cooperation among schools is continued. Teachers also realize what profits fallow the participation of international projects. It was easier for students to get to high school because of achievements in robotics competitions.
