Project Summary
With the “Tetris intercultural” project, youth workers from the rural regions of Jura in France and East Belgium have strengthened youth work with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and/or with migration experience. They have analysed the challenges of their target group, trained their teams and developed professional attitudes and working methods in dealing with young people in an intercultural context. They have compiled all their experiences and reflections, the acquired specialist knowledge, case studies and recommendations for efficient intercultural work in a handbook. This handbook should serve to give politicians and funders, as well as youth workers on the field, an overview of youth work, its working methods and the appropriate framework conditions.
During the project, the promoters have produced two documentaries and an animated film, which will provide a quick visual overview of the specificity of youth work specifically in an intercultural context during events for professionals or for a larger public, as well as during negotiations with decision-makers. The project thus contributes to the qualification of youth work.
