Project Summary

The contemporary career model assumes constant improvement of competences and gaining qualifications. Learning in various forms, places and throughout life becomes the key to the success of both young people and the whole society. Vocational training in vocational qualification courses results from the needs of the changing labor market.
Innovation of the project “Professionals for the start” consisted in the creation of the International Vocational Center (MCZ) at the Zespół Szkół nr 7 in Koszalin – the principles of its functioning, the schedule of activities, and the MCZ website were presented to the Partners. The Center was involved in and will continue to deal with the promotion of vocational education and the promotion of exchange education.
As part of the “Professionals for start” project, teachers from Poland and Italy participated in two international activities in Portsmouth and Granada.
As part of the 1st international action, teachers attended a seminar on the subject: “The UK educational system – advantages and disadvantages.” The seminar was attended by teachers from Poland and Italy (15 people in total, including 7 teachers from Poland and 8 teachers from Italy). The teachers got to know the educational system of Great Britain – its advantages and disadvantages, compared it to the educational system functioning in Poland and Italy. During the stay in Portsmouth, the teachers participated in training: I – titled “E-learning in foreign language lessons” and II – “How to prepare lessons using a multimedia board?”. The subject of the first training was the use of modern methods of working with a student in English as a vocational language. Teachers have learned that the use of e – learning in learning English vocational language increases the efficiency of teaching and self – education. The teachers have developed examples of vocational English courses in various industries. They exchanged their observations and experiences in the field of functioning of vocational education. They participated in observations of practical classes in vocational education centers, enterprises and schools: at Highbury College, Training College and the University of Portsmouth. Project partners participated in the meeting in Insight4life regarding vocational counseling, choice of education by young people, mechanisms operating in Poland, Italy and Great Britain. As part of the second international action, teachers participated in the training on the subject: “The educational system in Spain”. Teachers from Poland and Italy took part in the training (15 people in total, including 8 teachers from Poland and 7 teachers from Italy). The teachers met with the educational system of Spain and compared it to the educational system operating in Poland and Italy. During your stay in Granada, teachers participated in the training entitled “Designing internships and the subject of qualification courses. “The subject of the training was the construction of vocational qualification courses by analyzing the core curriculum of vocational education, taking into account the classification of professions. The participants of the training talked about the usefulness of course education, the ability to retrain young people and acquire a new profession in a short time. The teachers jointly developed exemplary vocational qualification courses in various industries (IT, electricity, energy, agriculture and forestry). They prepared didactic and methodological materials in the form of workshops for students: “Effective job search”, “My first company” – economic portfolio. Together with partners from Spain, we participated in observations of practical classes in schools and enterprises: I.E.S Virgen de las Nieves, IT Company (E-sistema), Assyce Fotovoltaica Company.
As part of the project, we had planned a youth exchange, unfortunately it did not come to fruition, because when sending the application, the co-financing table for these mobility has been cut off. We tried to get sponsors, but it was not that easy. Entrepreneurs, as usual, are not willing to engage in this type of activity (such as sponsorship). The Italian side did not have anything to finance the trip and stay for the students. Both in our school and in the Italian school, young people from poor families are taught, so the parents could not afford to pay for trips.
Together with our students, we organized interdisciplinary classes for young people entitled “Renewable sources of the energy – future for the whole of Europe”. In the course of the class, the students were divided into four-person groups and carried out an educational project entitled “Renewable energy sources the future of our region”. The students worked with the project method, they made tasks (energy, solar, energy, wind, hydropower, biomass) drawn by the group’s leaders. We designed interesting activities together with the Koszalin University of Technology for students.
