Project Summary

A major social issue today is the evolution of the city, what it will look like in 20 or 30 or 50 years. It is our students who will make the cities evolve, who will build them and who will live there. By working on this theme now, they will be able to understand that they can and must be actors. By setting up this project on a European scale, our students will be able to discuss their visions, their ideas and feel more motivated to be actors by realizing that these questions are shared by students of their age. living in other European countries where the issues are sometimes different. Sharing with European students, in a common language, will inevitably trigger greater reflection among each of our students. We believe that taking them out of local isolation will bring more stimulation and motivation to their thinking.

The second reason is that we believe that the link between the first and second degree must be strengthened in order to allow students, especially those who are struggling, to live serenely this transition to prevent school drop-out,The others will experience the continuity within the educational system.

Thus, as a first step, our students will observe and investigate the history of their current city and the reasons for its current appearance.
Then, various and different works according to the levels will take place. They will aim to imagine their ideal city in many ways and present it to their classmates, those in partner schools, parents, municipalities and other different groups in different schools.
For this, a basic tool will be the development of a scalable model of their city that will integrate the different studied areas (houses to create / architecture, food, energy, transport, governance, education …)., photomontages in computer graphics, urban tours and their renditions, writings of texts and poems on the city that will be set to music in the form of circle songs or other techniques, creations of games on the city, makings of museum and virtual media libraries, documents on the prevention of seismic, volcanic or/and meteorological risks.

As the project unfolds, schools will use the Gantt chart of activities and keep a diary detailing the different work of the different groups of students and their chronology. The outcome of all the
planned actions will be the quantitative assessment.

For the students, according to the levels concerned, we also expect a better command of the English language (understanding and expression), a better control of the computer tools, a greater knowledge of the culture of the countries of the partner schools.
The partnership will use a small number of collectively defined indicators to help schools act in a more coherent, organized and measurable way. These indicators will be defined together at the first transnational meeting of activities in Italy and will be used to measure our progress towards the objectives (outputs and outcomes). The indicators will be quantitative (practical tools, manuals or booklets, research reports, guide to good practice, picture book) and qualitative (strengthening skills, improving language skills, improving cultural awareness).
