Project Summary

L.E.T.’S.! (Loving Europe Through (its) Sites involves knowing and learning European cultural heritage through historical sites and monuments. The partnership will mark the beginning of a future multicultural and intercultural development. Students, staff and school community will know and respect Europe’s remarkable peculiarities by researching local historical sites and monuments that stand for different fields of knowledge such as History ,Music , Literature, Sports, Mythology, Arts, Science…That will lead them to achieve a better cultural understanding that widens participants’ perspectives in terms of future employment and international relationships. In order to get this goal, a CLIL approach will be used so the partners will be able to communicate among themselves in a common language as global (English) improving their foreign languages skills. All the aims of the partnership will be achieved through the key competences established by the European Parliament and the Council of Europe and the recommended ICT resources as well. This project will be developed with activities including: designing a logo and a mascot which will represent the partnership travelling from one school to another; showing what the students have learnt through mini videos, drawings, worksheets and mini-projects; having a cultural week including parents/community and involving the children as story tellers and tourist guides; the creation of a calendar which includes pictures of sites and monuments as well as holidays and festivities of all the partner countries; a storytelling contest including the cultural items studied as characters; creation of a glossary of most commonly used phrases in each language which will be included in a theatre piece performed by children; a final big party with Oscars performance like.
