Project Summary

The two year project “Save the Planet” should give the Austrian and Norwegian students a deeper insight into the individual´s lifestyle and approach to lead a more environmentally friendly life. The students further more will have to deal with the schools´way of leading to a more sustainable life. In addition they will also have to find out how the community they live in has started to make changes in order to provide more environmentally friendly facilities and possibilities for the citizens. These three levels should be compared with the partner school and the research and findings will be documented scientifically in order to be presented at the end of the project. Thus the students should be able to keep an individual diary on their individual carbon footprint, hold interviews, discussions, make videos on the school´s state concerning a sustainable life and finally inquire about the community´s progress in offering more sustainable facilities and possibilities by doing interviews and excursions to special companies within the area. Throughout their investigations and work the two school will stay constantly in contact and will exchange their findings and results by eTwinning and Padlet and uploading results on the schools´ websites. The results will be further more presented publicly by a parents´evening in both destinations and by publishing and presenting in the communities. The school´s “Open Day” also offers an opportunity to present the project to a larger group of persons interested in the school. Also the local press will be invited to these presentations.
