Project Summary
This project has achieved its objectives and goals. We therefore have very little adjustments to this summary.
We live in a globalised, diversified world that is changing permanently. Our young people will encounter a society that will explore and appreciate the creative industries and collaborative persons, that means a very different employment market in the next 15 years. We have to focus on evaluating teaching practice and the learning environment by involving pupils to create their own lessons in teams coordinated by teachers. By involving the pupils to make their own lessons in team of 6 peers from 6 different country they will learn how to collaborate in a multicultural and diverse class, how to become good listners, to enjoy different perspective of lifelong learning, to understand that teamwork raises somebody’s own efficiency.
Our project has improved pupils’ life skills and experiences by designing spaces for learning/teaching through collaboration between pupils from 6 different countries. The diversity in class according to the same study will enhance the collaborative problem solving and will make the awareness of cultural heritage between the beneficiaries. Teachers will learn how to create an interactive lesson from (‘virtual’) pupils’ point of view and pupils will have an inside view of teaching-learning process. The project ”Pupils teach Pupils” has improved pupils’ life skills by involving them in the process of teaching their peers through the implementation of interactive methods and didactic strategies during the exchange of good practices between the school partners. The specific objectives are students centered: the increasing of the motivation for learning of pupils, through promoting a better understanding of teaching process and of sciences (O1); the increasing of the awareness of cultural heritage knowledges through participation of pupils from 6 European countries (O2); the improvement of the school results of the disadvantaged pupils (emigrants/early school leaving) by involving them directly in learning/teaching activities and by making attractive lessons with the use of ICT tools (O3); the empowerment of pupils with methods of teaching/learning strategies and the awareness between them of the difficulty of didactic strategies promoted by teachers for a more effective learning (intergenerational learning) (SO4). Our participants are: 6 Schools; 6+ school managers, 18+ teaching staff; 218+ potential students from 6 schools: ,,Mondial College”, from Nijmegen, Holland; ,,Art and Science Center” YUKSEL BAHADIR ALAYLI BILIM VE SANAT MERKEZI, from Selcuklu city in Turkey; Szkola Podstawowa w Woli Rozanieckiej; The ”Avram Iancu” Gymnasium School from Alba Iulia, Transylvania, Romania; IIES Padre Morret-Irubide, Pamplona, Spain; “Gesamtschule Schermbeck”, Germany and “Zespol Szkol Nr 1 im. Marii Sklodowskiej-Curie w Wyszkowie”, Poland. Activities that would support our objectives are: 01. ”Teaching Science, Art/Music, Poetry & Language, Social studies and History” from a cultural heritage point of view (O1, O2); 02. ‘Sunday-a Host Family Day” (O2); 03. Emigrants pupils/disadvantaged pupils will present their birth place using ICT tools (O3); 04. ”Teachers will be Pupils”, intergenerational learning, when teachers will ‘become’ students and will be taught and evaluated by pupils (O4); 05. a self-evaluation tool for teachers to reflect on and improve/adapt their practice; 06. instructional blogs/videos produced by pupils to support new achieved teaching & learning methods. We will use a Professional Learning Community methodology with partners (ITeach); it is a collaborative approach based on identifying the problems, seeking solutions after each lesson/visit, testing solutions in context and evaluating impact. ”PTP” project will focus on the teaching profession at classroom, learning from peers and the inter-relationship with other pupils and parents.
