Project Summary
<< Background >>
The Gov 3.0 project aimed to establish the scientific basis for digital government and deliver the main corpus of knowledge in digital government 3.0 as the new generation of digital government towards data-driven decision and policymaking. The impact of the Gov3.0 project relates to the establishment of Government 3.0 as a vivid scientific domain, encompassing Electronic Government, ICT-enabled Governance, and Policy Modelling and support.
<< Objectives >>
Gov 3.0 contributes to the development of ICT-enabled Governance by developing new methods for road mapping research priorities, new curricula for teaching at pre-graduate, post-graduate, and company executive levels, new approaches for fostering entrepreneurship attempts (e.g., Start-up companies based on Open Data), and a novel Massive Online Open Course that is available and maintained during and after the implementation of the project.
<< Implementation >>
The project organized and participated in numerous workshops and conferences, including the organisation of an annual conference (Samos Summit) and Summer School (opengov), where many domain experts engaged by giving their input and evaluated the results. To establish a common understanding among the partners and the wider community, exchange activities have been delivered through joint conferences.
<< Results >>
The Gov3.0 project’s resulted in the Government 3.0 roadmap design, the development of new pre-and post-graduate joint curricula on ICT – enabled Governance, a novel Massive Online Open Course, and new approaches for fostering entrepreneurship attempts accompanied by an entrepreneurship competition and entrepreneurship modules. Additional results are a scientific book and a Ph.D. to the Digital Governance Science Base, and the establishment of a broader and stronger community on the field.
