Project Summary

The project “Dream,Believe,Achieve” was a long-term capacity building project with the main goal of supporting development of youth entrepreneurship among unemployed or low level employed youth from the rural areas of the partnering countries Armenia,Georgia,Spain,Italy. Youth unemployment has far-reaching implications on the labor market and the society at large. It contributes to economic exclusion and poverty and increases the probability of future joblessness. Youth unemployment results in the loss of a valuable contribution to economic activity and growth from one of the most productive elements in society.High levels of youth unemployment can also lead to alienation from society and distrust of democratic political processes. As a result, social cohesion is undermined. Many factors contribute to this problem, including these:1. Lack of knowledge, technical skills, experience:youth often lack knowledge, skills and experience to engage in highly skilled jobs, especially those that require specialized technical knowledge2. Lack of entrepreneurial culture, knowledge and skills:youth grow up in a culture that does not typically support young entrepreneurship.Instead young people in poor, rural communities often seek employment by migrating to nearby cities and towns. They lack the practical knowledge and skills to create economically rewarding and socially responsible enterprises.3. Lack of youth involvement:Young people generally have the energy, vision and will to get involved with new and innovative projects, especially those aimed at making their communities safer and healthier places in which to live.Yet, in many developing countries and communities, there is a lack of infrastructure to support youth entrepreneurship projects, and youth are not provided the necessary coaching, trust, and enabling environment to make viable contributions to the local economy and environment. The project helped to foster cross-country cooperation targeted to fostering youth unemployment beyond the scope and after the end of this project. The project went in line with the European Strategy “Investing and Empowering young people” the most relevant aspects of which is to improve competences of young people and their personal and professional development through non-formal education in order to give them better opportunity to find job and being an employee. The project helped to develop youth entrepreneurship networks among the countries involved in the project, and offered opportunity to young people to improve their capacities (technical and knowledge-based) by participating in a training course as well as to contribute to the development process of youth entrepreneurship strategies both on national and international level. The project consisted of 4 phases:PHASE 1: YOUTH ENTREPRENEURSHIP CONFERENCE,Yerevan,Armenia, 16-19 February,2018PHASE 2: TRAINING COURSE ON YOUTH ENTREPRENEURSHIP,San Benedetto, Italy,20-27 April,2018PHASE 3: WORKSHOP ON YOUTH ENTREPRENEURSHIP,Madrid,Spain 28 July-01 August,2018PHASE 4: CLOSING EVENT AND CONFERENCE,Tbilisi,Georgia, 5-7 October,2018As a result of the project around 35 young people improved their knowledge and skills in the field of entrepreneurship. They learned how to write a business plan and how to start their own business in the field of tourism. Start-ups were established as a result of the project and nowadays young people already have their own business moreover by starting their business they involved also other young people. Which means that even little but the project also contributed to reducing of youth unemployment in 4 participating countries. Entrepreneurship Guide has been developed, printed and distributed to the participants and partner organisations.Entrepreneurship Platform has been developed as a result of the project.
