Project Summary

The Project has been created as a response to the needs of professional vocationally education for professionally active group – medical doctors with specialization in dentistry, in the field of communication with a patient with special attention to the patient with fear of medical intervention.

The main objective of the project was to design the training programme and methodology – curriculum for dentists in the subject of communication with patient with special emphasis working with patient with a fear of medical intervention. Target group of the training were professionally active dentists. The training and methodology correspond to the level 6 of European Qualification Framework.

In order to achieve objectives of the project international Partnership was established by four Partners: KIKO Business Solutions from Poland, ÖTZ-NLP&NLPt from Austria, Synolic Ltd from Greece, Mind Master Creative from Romania. The partnership was established among organizations that are experts in the field communication and trainings, including vocational education, European therapy and psychology training and certification, international certification and training designing and evaluation. They have various experience and background, thanks to which the partnership could’ve been efficiently implemented. Each partner organization brought its skills, knowledge and experiences that were necessary for reaching planned outcomes. Partnership was able to achieve results that would not have be reached by organisation from single country.

The objective of the project was reached through, among others, teaching activity and transnational project meetings during which some activities were carried out: exchange of knowledge, exchange of experiences and good practices in the field of effective and innovative methods of trainings in the subject of improvement of communication skills of dentists in their work with patients (with special attention to the patient with fear of medical intervention).

In order to achieve project’s objectives Partnership carried out planned activities. All partners were involved in the preparation of “International comparative analysis of the Medical Dentists educational framework in terms of communication”. The document was prepared in the professional form of PDF ready to be printed. This analysis can be treated as innovatory and unique product of the project – there had not been information on publication of such a data and analyzing educational systems in some EU countries, in this subject before.
Partnership also carried out analysis on educational needs of dentists needs, through usage of specially prepared methodology and questionnaires, as well as in-depth interviews done with dentists. Outcomes of analysis were presented in the issued document with title “International comparative analysis of dentist needs in terms of interpersonal communication with patient”.
During project realization all partners, decided to carry out “Analysis of needs of patients in the subject of interpersonal communication with dentist. This analysis was not initially planned to be so widely carried out in the project, in order to achieve high quality and useful training program for dentists, and taking into account lack of such a data available, partnership decided to carry it out.

Basing on the of analyzing educational framework of target group, analyzing educational needs of target group and cooperation with representatives of target group training and its methodology were designed. Partnership cooperated with Medical Universities – Dental Faculties, Associations of Dentists, Physicians/ Medical Chambers as well as national and international media dedicated to dentists, health, medical issues as well as general media with dissemination and promotion of the project. The project was disseminated and promoted among target group and wider audience, through: analyses carried put, dissemination of publications made in the project, questionnaires, meetings, participation in seminars, national and international conferences, International Dental Fairs. In the project comdent.co website and profile in social media was created and managed. Stable cooperation with specialized media of wide scale supported and strengthened impact

One of achievements, is the fact that part of the designed training will be taught by Project Partner expert – Synolic at the Dental University of Athens, studies are staring in October 2016. Therefore methodology and part of the training will be used for formal education.

Only through strategic international Partnership it was possible to achieve results that would not be reached by organisation from single country. Thanks to this diversity it was possible to create training program and methodology applicable across Europe in various countries.
