Project Summary
The “European values through digital works” project has developed exchanges and cooperation between European schools to promote the exchange of good teaching practices and the personal development of learners and their skills, particularly technological and linguistic, while integrating the concepts of European citizenship and multiculturalism.
The objectives of this project were: on the one hand – the exchange of innovative approaches among teachers; and on the other hand – the development of the conscience of young people, through European citizenship. They aimed at the opportunity for pupils to practice languages by exchanging with European comrades, but also to work with high schools – partners in actions on the theme of European values. The interest for the learners was to provide them with a better knowledge of Europe, to develop their curiosity of mind about these different cultures, to practice foreign languages, to work on cultural richness, European heritage, social inclusion in a much more concrete and practical way than through traditional courses. The participation of students with disabilities has taught our students to respect people in difficulty.
The project aimed to develop digital skills focused on teacher and student by developing appropriate teaching methods for assessment and certification through the establishment of quality education systems.
The project provided for the realization of various activities – common site, educational collection, multilingual digital booklet, exhibitions, films, brochures, slide shows, CDs. The creation of a common website, continuously fed by teachers and students, has enabled a permanent intercultural dialogue between them. It is accessible to all young European visitors and can thus help develop a European awareness of responsible citizenship.
Organized activities targeted teachers, students, parents and professionals, society – participants in local activities. They attracted the attention of the public / around 250 people / and sparked interest in the local press. People indirectly benefited by the project and people outside the institution were affected to varying degrees by the project. Each partner benefited from the help of local organizations / in the structures of the town hall and the prefecture / to develop correct and accurate products.
Teachers developed innovative teaching tools on the topic of the environment, learners created digital and paper documents on the same topic. The teachers have the employees by developing the didactic tools.
To carry out the different stages of the project, the partners organized four short-term learning activities – in four partner countries / Bulgaria, Austria, Belgium and Romania / to present developed documents, work together on the concrete theme and take stock of each stage of the project. The partners failed to achieve the last, fifth mobility in France, due to the deterioration of the health situation in Europe / 22-28 March 2020 /. However, all final products planned for this exchange were developed and published on the project website: Activities were organized as: workshops; conference; exhibition and seminar. The students carried out the interactive activities and the teachers organized the open-house lessons and the presentations of innovative teaching tools.
The results of the project remain accessible and are used by the general public while ensuring favorable conditions:
